Guild Wars 2

So I’ve managed to solo AC p3 a few times with my Elementalist, but every time, there’s only one thing preventing a smooth run: the Spider Queen.

After the change to her AI, I can no longer lure all the spiderlings in the corner and kill them safely, without dying. What usually happens is, I lure the spiderlings to the corner, I FGS and kill them all just when the Spider Queen kills me with her AoE. After that, I just respawn, run back and kill her from long range with Staff.
I did try going into the corner after the Spider Queen used her AoE attack, but she just uses it again when coming to the corner, almost immediately.

I saw a couple of videos on Youtube, but it seems they’re all before the change to her AI, so the players can just melee her with FGS.

Is there any way to kill the spiderlings safely?

Basically just circle around the statue in center of the room.

It’s going to take you way longer, but this is what I usually do:

- Kill the 2 heads on the door from outside usign staff
- Enter the room and clean it all but a single lvl2 spiderling (the last lvl2 spider triggers the queen)
- Kill that spiderling and run upstairs. Create a chokepoint at the top using staff CC and nuke all the spiders down.
- Engage the queen with maybe 1-2 spiderlings remaining.

^ one of the safest ways.

Alternatively, you can ice bow #5 her, immediately drop it and use obsidian flesh (earth focus #5) and burn her down with FGS.

It can be tricky, and I suggest first clearing the spider hatchlings first.

I’ll try doing it on vid one of these days because I have done it before, but it’s a little RNG-oriented I guess :S

Like I said, though, the problem is not killing the Spider Queen, it’s killing the hatchlings without dying to the Spider Queen :P

You can still get it done like that, but it’s really tricky and more erratic to do it all in one go like you used to be able to. Perhaps try exactly what I suggested, but use the first FGS for a rush to clear the hatchings before quickly swapping to ice bow and hoping you select her as a target in time and hoping you get desirable RNG and that she doesn’t open with a poison spray? :P

Sounds like what you’re asking is ultimately going to boil down to RNG… which sucks.
