Guild Wars 2

Hey, so, a bit of story to all this. Bear with me.

I just got my new computer built, and GW2 installed on it. Overnight last nite. I started playing on it. enjoying the increased FPS and how everything looked like a completely new game. Decided to do an AC story solo for some champ bags and funzies.

But everytime I fight Adelburn, screen goes black and says no signal. Also happened trying some queen’s gauntlet fights but I used Adelburn for testing. Tried a regular monitor cable, an HDMI cable. Other things. Anyways, just wanted to ask if anyone else had this issue?

It sounds like a graphics card problem. Run any test software that came with the card and some dx diagnostics.

Possibly. Don’t think it’s the card though. Used to be my Uncle’s and he’s run several games on it. Like SW:TOR

Likely a heat issue, either you GPU or your CPU.

I at first thought it was a heat issue. But levels are ok enough (30-40 when not playing GW2, 45-60 when playing. Celsius).

I left the game on for like an hour, no issue. But when ever I go to fight Adelburn, it does that. I’m thinking it was likely an installation issue. Since it never asked my uncle for disc 2. So hoping that works. Was mostly wondering if anyone else experienced this to see if it was a game problem

Are you running a zerker build?

Yes, I run berserker stats and the meta Warrior build. So got it reinstalled, using disc 2 this time. Still I crash at Adelburn even though everything else goes fine. I’ll try the repair

This is just part of the build balance changes. Adelburn has a new mechanic that corrupts your client data if you run AC story in zerker gear.

This is to prevent elitists from running the first dungeon of the game and provide a “smoother transition from Open World and Living Story PvE to experiencing dungeons” for less experienced players.

hey I’ve known guild wars to actually be one of the more difficult games from graphics cards (not FPS-wise). My laptop had dual 7970ms running in crossfire that could handle any game without any issues, and temperatures were usually normal, though guild wars could always crash my system (and more often in predictable places).

Recently, my master GPU in that system has died, and though it’s not certain, you might consider that this is a sign that it’s the beginning of the end for that card. For me the first game to show issues was guild wars, and eventually I saw issues in other games like skyrim, and finally I even saw issues with garbled post text before it eventually died altogether.

hopefully this isn’t your case, definitely try updating your graphics driver first and reevaluating all your connections.

Well, I think we just figured out the issue. The game doesn’t like the card. So I’m gonna order the card my brother has, which works fine. Brought him to kill Adelburn and he didn’t “crash” (by crash I mean it leaves me in game, the screen just goes black and says no signal). So that should fix it. I appreciate everyone’s advice, help, and time spent
