…because let’s just face it! EVERYONE keeps rolling the first dungeon till they get the swamp. And even if your response is, “Well then, we’ll just remove it from the first selection.”

Well, guess what?

That won’t work either because whatever you replace it with, people will still keep rolling the first fractal that’s easiest.

So you might as well give us a selection on choosing the first fractal, like in explore mode in the other dungeons.

ANET, please delete everything but Swamp, Snowblind and Aetherblade…

…because let’s just face it! They are the best and we shouldn’t have to play the others!.

@OP: I get what you are saying, but if you want a certain fractal, take the 2 minutes it takes and roll for it. It’s not like you have to sit there for hours doing it.

I guess your right. But the thing is, if you think about it, despite fractals being random, the first fractal essentially has choice NO MATTER WHAT since you can back out and roll again. There is no way ANET can’t realize that. So why not cut such a redundant step?

You have a practical mindset, and I like that very much. However, having to roll for it gives people the illusion of randomness.

It’s all about flavour, rather than effectiveness.

Lore wise it wouldn’t make sense to be able to pick the fractal. Now I know most people here don’t care about stuff like that but a few might. Also it’s not broken so why fix it? Oh, and I roll for jelly/ascolon/swamp depending on my party all three are really easy and when you aren’t doing lvl 30+ you don’t care.

They already removed hard fractals from the 1st one list.

1: Aquatic Ruins, Swampland, Urban Battlegrounds, Uncategorized.
2: Uncategorized, Snowblind, Urban Battlegrounds, Molten Furnace, Cliffside, Underground Facility.
3: Aetherblade, Volcanic, Thaumanova Reactor, Underground Facility, Cliffside.
Boss: Solid Ocean Fractal, Molten Boss Fractal or Captain Mai Trin Boss Fractal.

What the problem with you? Every fractal in 1 is easy and fast, why you just ignore those fractals?

Well its simple, Urban Battlegrounds and Uncategorized is also a level 2 and who likes underwater combat?

Anet should just make it so rolling short fractals would give you a higher chance to get long fractals later and visa versa.

Give every fractal a value representing their length and the game would roll the fractals so that the added value of your 3 fractals is always in a certain range. They could even do away with the 1st 2nd and 3rd tiers they have now.

If you rolled swamp first, you’d have a high chance to get dredge later, and if you happened to roll colossus first instead, you would get shorter fractals later and could be sure not to get dredge.

It’s funny because this is how i thought Anet was going to do this when they were explaining it pre-fractured patch.
