Please do a daily reset on the arah gates so that the dungeon is at least possible to enter once a day. Had my main inside the gates for a month when they were bugged, took her out for the Nov event. Now the gates are bugged again and I can’t get back inside ;-(.

Anothing thing that would make the community patient while you work to fix the bugs is to move the wp INSIDE the gates. Hardly anyone uses the wp to land outside the gate only to farm the mobs (except the sparks but you can use other wps just as close), people use that wp to check to see if the gates are open or to do the event to keep them open. Moving the wp inside would keep the option of going there to help with events stay available while the people who use it to get to the sparks could use one of the 2 other really close wps.

Second that (Isle of Janthir). Been waiting for almost a week now.

Why not get a group together on your server to help clear the event, or ask your guild for help? We’re never really had trouble getting this cleared on Blackgate if people ask for help. It’s always a good idea to build a sense of community in your server for things like this.

What Draconis said, many times it just cant be done because of a npc issue not starting the chain or being stuck in the chain someplace already started.

I had to server hop just so we could get a guildie into the story mode.

Simple fix cut out the event and leave the gates open 24/7 until anet fixes it which seems very difficult for them to fix. It’s mind boggling how this bug has been there since release and has not been fixed

wish it were that easy but of course anet doesn’t want to admit they made a mistake so they’ll never take the gates out

Gates are currently open on Borlis Pass, if anyone wants to go there.

i would join you braxxis but i enjoy killing borlis more than any other wvw people in this game… also borlis LOVES to kill me on sight… even if I’m nakes, skirting against a wall, trying to get a pet in their territory.

Lost count of how many times players asked for this to be fixed, been so long now that I almost think the devs are satisfied with their players fixing their problem using a mesmer as entrance into arah instead <_<

To be honest, i wonder how many of those crying ‘Arah bugged! fix!’ can identify what is bugged in the chain. Not just ‘NPCs won’t start’ or something, but can you actually point your finger at the NPC that blocks progression? Can you name any specific bug that’s there?
It might, you know, help ANet to fix it.

The biggest problem with this is that it would be impossible to EVER do Arah if your server did not have enough people interested in doing the pre-events. Then the dungeon would be closed forever and it would be just as bad as it is now.

Another way around the gates being closed and since the majority of the player base is focused on FotM make a token exchange. 1 to 1 If I have 500 AC tokens let me exchange them up to Arah tokens or whatever I please (no token exchange for Fractals tokens).

What difference does it make at this point since 90% of the game population is in LA lfg for Fractals or in Fractals. Or just open the instance without a need to do a event to open it?

The event gets stuck at the strategizing at caer brier or The Pact are preparing to establish a forward base
It might you know help if anet actually investigated bug requests that have been sent/plagued the game since release? Might want to open your eyes and get off your high horse if you really believe since release players haven’t submitted detailed bug reports on this issue

The event also gets stuck at the part where the Pact is trying to take the Promenade of the Gods. The risen stop spawning and so you can’t complete the Cull the Risen part.

Thankfully everyone is busy spending hours LFG for fractal level X to bother opening temples or Arah or anything else in Orr anymore. It was also easier to open temples and Arah when there were lots of people grinding Plinx who would take a few minutes to WP wherever in the zone and help, in fact I haven’t even zoned into Orr a single time since the patch. Way to go ANet. Way to kill your sadistic and ugly desert and dead things zone. Just sink it back down into the ocean again nobody will miss it. It’s kittening ugly as kitten anyway whenever I’m there I feel like I’m in an ugly barren California desert full of ugly bland kitten brown risen character models. Hey look, another risen, and it looks like a stick figure textured in muddy brown dog kitten like every other risen. Orr ROCKS!

Besides Arah story is really stupid and boring and poorly designed anyway, ANet is merely doing you a favor by not subjecting to you its failness. Isn’t that nice of ANet? It’s looking out for you by barring access to terrible content. Now, knowing all that, don’t you feel ashamed for all the mean things you’ve said?

Wow, is it just me or is all I see just a bunch of petulant children in this forum? I was in Cursed Shores for 2 hours today, and with random people we cleared the Cathedral of Silence and the Promentory of the gods all the way to the gates of Arah.

But you know ArenaNet shame on you, I mean it’s not like you’ve fixed the 150 some bugged skill points in the game that were stopping world completion, or the hundreds of bugged dynamic events that were causing people to complain like this a few months ago. I mean who could think that with a load of work on your plate it would take more than, say, 10 minutes to come up for a solution for these kids? Seriously I think some people need a time out!

Of course many of us understand that anet is busy, we are not demanding that these bugs be fixed RIGHT NOW RAGE RAWR FKLFMAORAWR!!! or anything like what you are suggesting, we merely are requesting for the event to reset if it has been inactive for x amount of hours. That isn’t a nearly impossible bug fix, complete with hours of diagnostics and coding, that is pushing a reset button.

If every event had the ability to be “failed” after say 2 hours of 0 progress, then also have the ability to start over again, that would significantly alleviate player stress towards these events. Yes the 2nd suggestion IS a lot of work and would take time to implement, however the 1st suggestion would not.

Btw thank you Anet for resetting the gates yesterday but when I logged on this morning (yes less than 24h had gone passed) the event was already bugged again. Thank god I got my thief inside in time (after having to defend the gate from the wizard first, which we succeeded). The gates closed and event chain bugged when there were hardly any people logged onto our server.

make a token exchange system, or put the WP inside the gates…how hard is that

i disagree with the token exchange 100%. If you want the tokens then do the dungeon. By wearing the arah gear you are showing off that you not only ran the dungeon but that you have the skills to beat the toughest dungeon in the game multiple times. I wouldn’t want someone who spams ac or cof (easiest dungeons in the game) for fast and easy tokens to just swap them over to arah, would make the gear significantly less impressive imo and would overall turn me off from the dungeons in the game.

My post wasn’t aimed at you, or the start of this topic, but more at many of the posts that have been written since it was started. Heck, just read the post right before mine and you get what I’m talking about.
