Hey Community,

It’s Iris from the Dungeon Mentor [Noob] initiative. After 5 months of our operation, I want to share with you some statistics.

Currently, we have:

• A total of 310 Members
• 46 Mentors and staff
• 264 Students

For each region, there are:

• 16 Mentors and 49 Students in EU
• 26 Mentors and 215 Students in NA

Traffic-wise, every week there are approximately:

• 12 new invites
• 6 drop-outs
  The interest in joining [Noob] has increased since the Dungeon Tournament

Prestige: We have representatives of many hardcore PvE guilds such as [DnT], [rT], [SC], [Ren], [IX], [ZERK], [DD], [Last] and [KING] to join our rank as mentors. We also serve as a training ground as our graduates have eventually joined these guilds or become new mentors themselves.

The challenge: We are unfortunately understaffed!
This is a community project and mentors are entirely unpaid volunteers. Thus, there is no commitment requirement. Mentors are encouraged to take students whenever they are up to it. All the mentoring session has been on a 1 to 1 basis and some of the more lengthy dungeon such as Arah, TAA or fractals can require up to 3 hours. It will eventually exhaust all of our personnel. The only solution I could think of is to bring in more mentors to lessen the burden of the existing ones. So I plead the community to look at this matter and join hands to keep this initiative going strong.

In short, we need more mentors. Especially for beginners and in Arah. Come one, come all!

Keep on doing a good job Iris. Your coordination of setting the students up w/ us mentors have also been a part of the success

I joined to mentor Arah in EU and got a few pm’s today, taught someone how to solo/duo Arah P4. ’Twas fun!

COME TEACH STUFF GUYS.

This is really great to see! I’ve been trying to actively recruit mentors in game, by holding little buff parties with banners and bonfires, but it hasn’t been as effective as the reddit exposure or the forum post. I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make in game recruitment attempts better, so we can attract more than just the forum community to it as mentors.

That’s a cool idea! I’ll try it on NA and then EU. Iris, should I be looking for any particular type of mentor (general, meta, arah, fractal) or should I go with an “all welcome” perspective?

I’m a beautiful student and I’d just like to say I’m very grateful for all the organising stuff you do.

For now it would be all welcome. Since yesterday we have a few more Arah mentors from rT and NA mentors from my side guild [Club].

I wish I could help but unfortunately way too busy with my own project.

There is so much data to collect…

You are doing very well with his, I know you would always like more numbers but try to be carefull not to push too hard just to get them. You have your trials for a reason and the natural grow of this guild has been great.

You will always get more people, its just going to take time.

I agree Sarah. I recruit in game because many amazing potential mentors do not look at any online forum so I try there too.

I actually updated last night, was going to play for a bit but was too tired by the time it finished. I’ll probably start playing casually some. Not PVT casual, just playing here and there. I have a different mouse that I have to relearn on…

I have been looking for a way to learn the ‘ins and outs’ of fractals for a while. You mean to tell me I can join [Noob] and eventually help teach fractals? I’m on personal reward level 20 with 25 AR, so I know fractals decently. Would love to get to know them more on my way to getting the infused fractal capacitor.
