Really? There is already nothing to work towards in this game because ALL OF THE GEAR IS THE SAME. Now they’re preventing us from making it worth while to farm the EXP dungeons that we already need to farm if we want to even pretend to be working towards character improvements via cosmetic items which already take like 20 runs to obtain per item.

Not to mention the 500 tokens I need from AC for my legendary. Now I get to be excited that after a few runs I’ll be making next to zero money and getting no loot?

Sounds like a blast!

Why is Anet so hung up on making sure that NO ONE can obtain ANY advantage over another player?

If I or anyone wants to farm a single dungeon for 6 hours a day for what ever reason, let them. Their reward for doing so is potentially having lots of gold.

Again does it really matter when you can get the best gear in the game off the trading post for 15 – 20g?

I’ve already had friends quit because there is no reason to play this game once you’re 80. All the gear is the same, no pvp rewards to work towards, etc.

I’m honestly really upset over the change.

i was pointing out that all their changes has divided the community literally giving the advantage to everyone who already got their rewards and the disadvantage to those who didnt and now have to dance through hoops to get them

If I were you I wouldn’t worry about those 500 tokens you need for your legendary. Hope you realize it costs pretty close to 2 million karma and about 500 gold aswell. Hehe.

It costs 132 gold if you don’t buy anything but the required materials and it costs 525,000 karma.

I agree. The “end game” is the same for everyone once you get there. What difference does it make ‘how’ you get there? I think the only issue here is that ANet could possibly be losing out on gem sales because people are making enough gold by conventional means. (read: farming it)

To me, they are following the exact schedule that blizzard did with Diablo 3. It started out great, then they nerfed everything to hell and back making it so you had to play only 1 way.

This game was in beta for how long? There was plenty of time to make these changes prior to launch. Not to wait 3 weeks, allow thousands of players to complete this exact path to riches, exp, and loot, and then take it away from those that want the same. Now it seems that those that were allowed this scenario have an unfair advantage over the rest of us.

I honestly feel the same way. GW2 is the new D3.

They’re (Anet) are now telling us what is and isn’t fun. ie. acceptable by their standards.

I just feel like Anet is so gun-ho on putting all their efforts into making sure no one
has an advantage over anyone in any form. Be it gold, gear, etc.

Fact is this is still an MMO. The guy playing 12 hours a day should have an advantage over someone in at least some areas of the game.

I loved the kitten out of this game leveling up. I’ve got like 180 hours played and only hit 80 a few days ago. I didn’t even care. This was the first time I’ve wanted to level a character since BC or when TERA first came out. Now? I don’t even know if I care.

I was excited to work towards my legendary sword because its one of the few items in the game that is better than what some random Joe can buy off the AH the moment they hit 80.

Now they’re nerfing the risk / reward factor of EXP dungeons further hammering in the fact that there really is nothing to do in this game at end-game.

I can totally understand having the first tier of gear in the game all being the same. It gets everyone on an even playing field relatively quick but for the love of Pete, their first major content patch needs to implement some gear with a more varied stat system (not saying add new stats, the current ones are fine) but gear from source A should be better than source B if source A is harder than source B.

It’s already hard enough to get anyone to run story mode once to unlock exp. Now it’s going to be even harder for new players and fresh 80s.

If you’re going to correct me, take the liberty to do it right.

100 Icy Lodestones alone cost 100g. For every gift, you have to buy a recipe. The recipes cost 10g each, over 50g in recipes. This is the minimum you need in gold, but I very much doubt you are going to accumulate at the very least 250+80 globs of ectoplasm, 250 vails of powerful blood, 250 vicious fangs, 500 orichalcum ore, etc, and a 80g exotic weapon without pitching in a little bit of money.

I see now that they changed the clovers, so it’s not going to be two million karma but still a ton for a single weapon. Mystic Clovers are based on random chance, at the very best chance you will get 77 clovers out of 80 globs of ectoplasm and 80 obsidian shards. The chance that this happens is miniscule. You’ll most likely spend up anywere from 150 to 200 globs of ectoplasm and obsidian shards.

At the very least you are looking at 250 + 80 shards at 2100 karma each. In the perfect situation you are spending 693.000 karma. Chances are more likely that you’ll end up spending more than a million karma, of which all you must have accumulated on a single character.
