Hello.

Which gear should i be using for raids?
Also, is this gear that i should be buying or crafting?

I main warrior/Guardian/Elementalist

For beginning raids, you can get away with Exotic armor with Ascended Trinkets and weapons, is a good baseline, I would suggest checking out the Metabattle to get a warm and fuzzy about the specs and build you will be running for each class respectively that you will be raiding on. Some pugs will require full ascended but that is the Nature of PuGs.

Typically you want very high damage gear.
For most classes/builds, this means Berserker’s. This is true for warrior, guardian, and elementalist.
However, for elementalist specifically (and also thief) I recommend taking a few pieces of Marauder gear for some extra health. Why? Because you lose very little damage for this in the first place, and then ele has way more than enough dps to meet the dps checks, and you don’t want to be that one ele who keeps going down.

Quality of the gear is as the previous people said. But to reiterate,
Ascended weapons, because they make a notable difference,
ascended trinkets, merely because they are easy to get—not having them mostly just shows a lack of effort/dedication,
and then most people don’t mind exotic armor, though ascended is obviously preferred.

Ascended weapons typically need to be crafted. The only other real options are getting extremely lucky or buying them from raid-earned currency.
Ascended trinkets can be gotten from fractals, laurels, and guild commendations.
Typically you get rings from fractals, accessories from guild commendations, and amulet from laurels.

Also, elementalist can play as healer, and for Vale Guardian, you may want to use your guardian to tank (not recommended for your first runs, as it’s the hardest job), in which cases you’ll want somewhat different gear.
