Are they still supposed to drop everywhere in the world?

I mean currently, all they’re doing is making our crappy loot even more crappy. Was this changed after this patch or was it always like this since the Twilight Assault patch?

Once you get 250 of them you might consider run Aetherpath (?). I think it’s a brilliant plan elaborated by Anet to make you run LS content.

After the Twilight Assault LS ended they reduced the drop rates so that the key pieces will only drop from mobs that are part of the Maguuma region. (Metrica Province, Caledon Forest, Briston Wildlands, Mount Maelstrom.)

But you can always buy the key pieces from the TP for few copper.
