I am curious how anet will deal with 100 fractal levels and agony infusions.

Will the old ones, which are extremely expensive (like versatile stat-stones), need to be swapped out for infusions with more AR?

Will such infusions have better stats than the earlier ones? If +6power (or more) instead of +5power per infusion -> then minmaxers out there will want those instead.

If such things will happen …

Will anet make infusions removable from equipment as you please? Why not? This would open the opportunity for infusions to be upgraded.

If so, will they make some mystic forge recipe to upgrade old infusion stones? (Something like: combining 2x versatile agony infusions 5AR/5pow, to get a 10AR/10pow infusion stone … or something in those lines)

I am just saying, that since versatile agony infusion stones are so expensive, the issue of more powerful infusions must be handled with respect and care to the players.

Comments? Have anet said something about this?

I’m just going to quote myself from the other post on this subject since I’m to lazy to rewrite it:

Going by this progression: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Agony_Resistance fractal resistance for level 100 fractals would equate to:
flvl – ar required for 1% agony damage
50-59 – 70 ar
60-69 – 85 ar (highest currently attainable with +5 infusions)
70-79 – 100 ar
80-89 – 115 ar
90-99 – 130 ar
100 – 145 ar

We are currently missing infusion upgrades for armor, weapons, amulets and accessoires. That equals aproximately 11 slots lacking 5 agony resistance or 55 agony resistance in total. Adding these 55 agony resist to our current maximum of 85 attainable gives a maximum of 140 agony resistance with +5 infusions only.

Not really sure there is an issue. It more depends on how expensive getting infusion upgrades for the rest of the gear will be if they are added.

If each slot costs as much as the backpiece, yeah that will be expensive. If it’s more in line with ring infusions, things are no problem.

EDIT:
Persoanly I would love to see some kind of questline similar in lines to what we had in Guild Wars 1 http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Infusion . Finish it, and your entire worn armor (all 6 slots) gets the infusion upgrade. Would be a great link to the past.

On top of this they have a vast majority of possibilities of adding more ar resistance via masteries and/or achievements and such things. It should not be an issue if arenanet are addressing the topic properly.

I have suggested that in this thread but obviously a few players want their ascended armor to be somewhat more meaningful.

I hope now raid becomes the real elite content that requires ascended. They can separate AR completely from armor.

Agony resistance is only used for fractals. if you were even half-way interested in fractals and actively playing them, you’d have agony resist comming out of your ears.

Again, for the people that enjoy this content this is an absolute non-issue.

AR is fine, really
You can technically run most scales without AR, you’d just need to get your dodges right. It’s a way to progress through fractals and that’s nice.
Ascended gear is account bound; make yourself a nice set of trinkets and you can get 60~ AR with just +5 and +10 Infusions.
Sure, because you don’t want it, no one wants it? I assume most people who frequent fractals are quite happy with the system and wouldn’t want it gone.

On topic: I wonder if they will even give us enough AR to get to 1% ticks; I could see them giving us a bit less AR so that agony actually gets more meaning again besides “oh hey I have 50% less healing for a few secs, who cares”.

They said that with upgrading Fractals to lvl 100 the difficulty from 1 to 50 will be lowered. I wouldn’t be surprised that AR requirements would also be rescaled with the 85+ AR being only required for the top lvl Fractals (75+). There is still announcements to be maid about Fractals (hopefully this week !!) but I wouldn’t be surprised if the level 75-100 are actually the ones that will count in term of leaderboards, unless these are only completion speed for every single level.
