Just a quick question – mainly to devs, and obviously this is open to those who want to try and guess why but:
Why is there such an indifference in AI thought patterns/behaviour when it comes to dungeons? By this I mean – I’ve seen some Allied NPC’s heal knocked down/dead players if they’re in an “Idle” state and waiting for something to do.
Then there are some that stand around, attack approximately once every 6 seconds, often stand in front of enemies in “Idle” mode and just stare down at you when you’re downed/dead.
Such inconsistencies make me think that these are bugs, but at the same time, I’d say “Members of Destiny’s Edge being killed in 3 hits by trash mob” could be considered as a bug (In my early testing days, for single player games with allied NPC’s…if they were of no use to you, dying too early, staying up too long, getting in the way or doing too much, we’d mark those ALL as potential bugs. Perhaps not gameplay but logically and lore wise, this would be a little backwards. Dudes took on Dragon minon champions, but fumble every, single, time, in minor skirmishes.)
I’m not asking for them to be super-powered, since you usually play with them as separated parts of Destiny’s Edge, but hell, at least give them the knowledge to try and heal downed players, or be the main source for aggro, let them take a few more hits before dying or better yet GIVE THEM A DOWNED STATE. At least it would give us more reason to keep them up.
