Molten Facilities and Aetherblade Retreat were nice as long, continuous dungeons but I’m not a big fan of them being fragmented for Fractals.

Aetherpath in TA is pretty nice but, well, that’s one new, from the ground up dungeon since launch. All the AC change did was tweak the fights and give them new mechanics.

So, yeah, new dungeons would be nice.

I mean hell, just one new dungeon with the story/3 path setup would be great. I’m hoping with Maguuma opening up we’ll get Bloodstone Fen since that place is mired in story but who knows? We’ll see.

In flame and frost they added the Molten Facility which was an expansive dungeon with a satisfying and cinematic ending.

They added the similarly expansive Aetherblade Dungeon with Mai Trin and Horrik as the final boss.

They added the Thaumanova Reactor fractal that explored the lore behind the exploded Thaumanova Reactor.

They added the Tower of Nightmares, an admittedly zergy but still fun Rush-to-the-top instance.

They added the Queens Pavillion that singlehandly inflated the economy %100-%200 in the two weeks it was out.

Why is all this not considered ‘added content’? Because it was not permanent and endlessly farmable and profitable as say, CoF 1+2? Frankly I found all these pretty kitten enjoyable and the fact some were temporary doesn’t really matter to me. I have ‘moved on’ from that content.

What purpose would new dungeons serve? Existing dungeons can provide the barter tokens for exotic armor and there’s no need for more. Existing dungeons tell the Destiny’s Edge story and there’s no need for more of that. New dungeons are telling the living story but the OP seems to be ignoring those.

Any new explorable dungeons will be designed to take more time than the existing dungeons and probably be harder. The evidence shows that a perfectly good dungeon like TA Aetherblade will be ignored because it is long. There are already 25 dungeon paths and about 10 of those are run regularly. Those 10 will not change if new dungeons are added so the new dungeons might as well be in the living story or do something new.

All dungeons in living story are coming back as fractals almost a grantee. So all temporary content isn’t really temporary. 4 fractal levels can come from tower of nightmares alone.

That’s not true….Fractals should count as a Dungeon (just like Southsun Cove counts as a new LVL 80 zone).

Still, it’s a year an a half (not nearly 2) and I agree we need a new Dungeon and some LVL 80 zones in Kryta and Ascalon. To be honest, I ignored about 60% of LS content.

We go out in the world and take our chances

Forget new dungeon, where NEW LANDS? NO EXPANSIONS either. I rather have new pay-once dlc like DC universe online, i’d buy new lands and contents.

Which is a shame tease cause Tyria map is much larger compare to playable areas.

And don’t give me excuse this game fails = no expansion cause that’s just straight up lie.

Yes, because people were lined up out the door to do the aptly named “F-U” path. Aetherblade path was a welcome replacement.

Otherwise, I’d agree that while dungeons have been added, none have been permanent. Of course, this is a concern widely shared about the LS in general.

I am looking for a dungeon that doesn’t require a party to do. If I want a party I can get one. But just some instanced thing where I can go and work my way down to the end. I remember doing instance dungeons in DAOC and they would scale based on level and number of players. It would take me about 30-45 min to complete but it was still a challenge. I understand they want us to group up etc. But some nights I just don’t have the time

If you have proof lay it out, if not it’s speculation and with all the false hype I’ve seen (not all of it Anet) I’ll wait until i see a real announcement from the developers.

Wrong, because it was not permanent and therefore not able to be enjoyed by anyone who wasn’t playing in the two week window it was present.

The “LW” was always an atrociously bad idea for a game like GW2. It’s turned the game into a complete trainwreck that few players are left in.

All the dungeons added to the game were non permanent ones.

Imagine:

Permanent Molten Facility with three paths and giving off Molten Facility tokens for fuse weapons.
Permanent Aetherblade Dungeon with three paths, giving off Aetherblade Dungeon tokens for aether weaponry and armor.

But no, we cannot have nice things as long as the cash shop exist as it is.

If you like dungeons, GW2 is not the game for you.

How about making existing dungeons not crap and not making them require five players all the way through (i’m looking at you, CoF). Making people group up is great and all but having to toss it all out the window because someone has to go to dinner or something is really an old story. And Dredge fractal has the same problem…

The most fun things in this game are those that can be done with 2-3 people. Everyone is quite frankly tired of LFG, zerker, warrior, stack, skip, kick, crash, dc, afk, etc.

Really, what happened to spending time together in games? There is a strong difference between spending time and wasting time. And unfortunately in this last six months GW2 is leaning to the wasting end of the spectrum.

I wouldn’t trust the current team to design a dungeon of any sort.
