I don’t get why people care about the fractal leaderboard. What would it even do?

Another raid before next XPAC is pretty mandatory?
It could be a good news and a bad news at the same time, good because we could have another raid wing before the next Xpac, bad news because there is no ETA and maybe we need to wait 6 months (at least).
so another year long process to continuously buy more time?

Just a reminder that a new raid could just contain a single wing.
What I think might happen:
A new raid with only one wing (~3 bosses) in ~4 months that will complete the legendary armor collection.
There are also only 6 collection items left in the second collection (which grants the precursor). All 3 wings had excactly 6 collection items each. Just coincidence? Maybe.
Remaining collection items for legendary armor should be coming with future raid releases.
No date given for next raid release, just anything is possible when asked if we will see new raids before the next expansion.
Not sure if it means “mandatory”.
