Any Tips On How To Reliably Dodge Lupi's AA
If you’re in melee range and have basically any higher than around 180-200 ping you need to preemptively dodge kinda like at mage crusher. I average ~180 ping, but when I have around 140-170 on a good day then it’s OK.
The boss was really just grinding RNG before the update anyways so it didn’t change a whole lot in that regard tbh.
But if you are on a guard, what setup are you using? You should want him to be using autoattacks on guard for a sizable chunk of the fight because it’s a nice DPS increase.
For a warrior I use GS + axe/mace with 65003 using furious speed, and I take signet of stamina. In a casual solo you may as well just go without banner because chances are he might get pushed around a bit or teleport across the room.
If you are duoing then you don’t need signet of stamina and should be taking banners (or at least 1) depending on what class you are with, but in a low man setting I suggest furious speed trait nonetheless for casual runs because this way you can run away for his frenzied blasts without wasting dodges on them, meaning you’re able to freely dodge all his autos. Also for phase 3 it lets you more reliably make sure you don’t get hit by any of the pulses for his large aoe attack, preventing him from healing and purging conditions (and from you taking unnecessary damage).
Yep, I’ve seem to have made the most progress on guard, do to the fact that the aa works to my advantage while the wall is up. As for the setup, found Crixus’s way of dealing with lupi the most beneficial. Still, there do come times in the rotations, particularity in p2 where dodge is required against the AA and its during those crucial moments the “die is cast” so to speak. Shrugs guess I’ll just have to be patient and get more practice in. Took me weeks to learn lupi a year ago, but this time I’m nearly at p3 and within just a few days. I can smell victory XD. Also thanks for the feed back Miku. Always like reading your posts.
Nevermind then!
If you have the capability to dodge his kicks by reaction instead of guessing when he’s going to kick, then you should be able to dodge his autos no problem; just keep practicing and after a while it’ll become second nature.
You can use your blocks during phase 2 to stop the AA since you can put the aegis up before the attack will start. Phase 3 you can move back to max melee range, let him start the dome animation then step back in. You’ll get ~4 free seconds where he’s stuck with the dome skill being used and will avoid the other attacks, as well(if he actually has cooldowns), the other skills will have more time to become ready, therefore less AA usage. You can also bring him off wall during phase 3 so he also rotates his barrage in, where not getting the perfect dodge is 3-6k instead of 9k as well as more non-AA skills being used.
He usually steps slightly backwards before doing his “Lupi KICK”.
“Lupi SMASH” on p2 is a bit more annoying, but after a while, you’ll get a feel for his rotations and can dodge preemptively.
Doesn’t work for me, cuz’ i’m bad, but it might work for you.
“Only the finest of potatoes in my zerkburgers.”
its ezpz if you range him with a full party as intendted. stop using zerk exploits and dont complane when anet fixes them
