Hello,

My buddy Guardian and I, Warrior would like to know if there’s a dungeon we can do us 2 or if there’s a soloable dungeon?

We’re pretty new and still leveling but if there’s something we can bite on and get us in shape, that would be helpful. From what I’m seeing on the forum is that if you have no dungeon experience, you’ll just get kicked or such…

browsing through the forum, it is rather not very inviting. So if we can practice a bit before “ruining” the day of an elite group, it would good to know where to start.

AC Story mode isn’t too troublesome. You’ll have to learn some tips and tricks, but there are quite a few solo/duo videos around. Other than that, not too many I can think of. I think AC SM is probably one of the least difficult ones.

However, no dungeon is really ‘easy’ to do solo or with two people. I think your best option would be to just advertise that you’re new, or make sure your group knows you’re new when you enter it (i.e. tell them). Not everyone will kick you just for being new, but there are some. I would highly suggest that you do your research on any instance you plan to go into, and also do some research about your class(es), that will help you a lot.

Use gw2lfg.com and post a message on the dungeon you want to do that says “LF3M for [whatever], got 2 first timers so instructions would be appreciated.”

Blammo, you’ll get a group in no time, probably with someone who has no problem explaining what you should be doing.

The stories that you hear about people being kicked for not having experience is almost exclusively about pugs(pick up groups) of strangers.

The best way in my opinion to gain experience in dungeons is to find a guild that is pve focused and ask for them explain the dungeons mechanics when you do them.

AC paths 1+3 (3 is really really hard), CM 1+3, TA F/F, SE 1+3, CoE 3 and Arah 2-4 are soloable. Not easy and sometimes including minor glitches.
Don’t think about soloing dungeons before learning enemies actions and other general stuff, though.

SE 1/3 are the easiest. I’d start with 3. All the bosses can be exploited, not saying that you should use them but it does make it easier to learn when if your in trouble you can jump on something and take no damage.

Two of them can be reflected making the run even easier and faster. But, if you both don’t know anything about dungeons then its going to be an utter fail no matter what path you choose.

I’ve been in pug groups that wipe over and over again on the first boss/mob of any dungeon. If your goal is to practice a bit before joining the better groups then joining pug groups is your way to go, that way you will at least pick up the basic skips, pulls and tactics.

Depends on your consideration of exploits. Is attacking mobs through walls one? CM should still be doable without though.

Without any exploits doable are AC Path 1, (2,) 3, CM, TA, CoE 3 (i believe, think randomfightfan did one without exploits) and arah path 2+3. Not on all professions, though.

I was particularly talking about CoE 3 which requires at least 4 persons for laser-trap.

He did p2 and if I remember right he invited some other players for the lasers like I asked you for help^^
Just one question: I spend about 1h in AC p1 burrow part but I’m still not able to solo with my ele (staff, fgs 3+4, frostbow) my problem is not killing them fast enough, my problem is that I can’t run fast enough from burrow to burrow. Could you pls give me some hints?

I find running dungeons solo (or with 1 other) much more fun than with a full party.

With a full party, you can (for the most part) just faceroll through everything while with 1 or 2, you actually have to take time to learn the boss mechanics and do some buildcrafting just to be able to finish — it’s actually a really fun (if sometimes frustrating) challenge.

Start with SEp1 .. the bosses are all static with very clear tells on their attacks. It’s a good dungeon for learning how to solo. No exploits needed (you do have to pull a few bosses to the right place, but I don’t consider these exploits — the pulls are simply to isolate the bosses, not move them where you are invuln.) I usually solo it with my necro most days — it’s been REALLY FUN slowly developing my build and getting my times faster and faster .. it’ll be a sad day when I get to a point where I can’t improve my times.

Plus (a HUGE plus), the bosses don’t have enormous loads of health like in most other dungeons so fighting them is challenging but doesn’t get tedious. With a guardian and warrior, I’d say you could do this dungeon in 25-30 mins after just a bit of practice — so it’s somewhat rewarding lootwise (vs time spent) as well!

p.s. I just thought of a fun challenge: kill all three golem champs (again, SEp1) at one time instead of pulling one by one. With a guard + warrior it may not be too hard! In fact, maybe it can be done with just a guard?

p.p.s. SE p3 is also fun but does get a bit tedious at points (e.g. the APC part) — if you’re soloing, I’d recommend giving the first boss a few tries each time before giving up and exploiting him, just so you can get the dungeon done (otherwise it gets frustrating). After a bit, you’ll figure out how to do him legitimately.

Similarly for the last boss, give a few tries before finishing him using a full party from gw2lfg — when you post that you’re at the last boss, your party usually fills up really fast. Eventually, you’ll get it all by yourself.

Well I certainly don’t recommend going and solo’ing lupicus if you are new players and new to dungeons. That’s not very realistic.

The dungeons are solo-able but they are intended for groups, and such, if you wish to solo or 2 man, you will need a good deal of experience with not only the dungeon but the class you are playing on as well, not to mention the correct gear and trait setups.
My suggestion to you is to try out gw2lfg.com. I can tell you right now that most of the groups on GW2lfg are far from elite. The majority are ragtag teams with random classes, they have a basic knowledge of boss encounters and will are capable of finishing the runs although not in any record times. Many a time I have come across inexperienced players, but they are the least of your worries on gw2lfg, I and others generally welcome noobs because they are willing to listen to instruction, unlike some idiot who thinks he knows everything and rushes ahead popping all the nightmare blossoms.. and there are plenty of those.

A good dungeon to start with would be honor of the waves path 1, it’s quick and easy and for someone inexperienced there’s not too much you need to learn, it’s a good entry level dungeon, filled with mobs with predictable attacks and a bunch oh HP to burn through and you can get a group pretty easily.

Me and a guildie ran AC story a few days ago, just us two.
We had four wipes, but that was due to bad targeting and just general mishaps on our end.

I’ve heard CM can be 2-manned, SE P1/P3
Two of the Arah paths.
AC P1/P3 if you can pull good DPS and can survive well.
