Guild Wars 2

Wondering if anyone has any idea’s, i’ve managed to hit him 35 times once but just barely, i’ve also tried adding the sword/hammer but it looks like their attacks don’t reduce the bubble count. Anyone know of any guard skills maybe on a different weapon that will help?

This what I do on my guard, not sure if it’s the best, I’m more experienced and higher fractal with my warr, but I make sure to have my scepter/focus out before bubble with weapon swap NOT on cooldown, I auto attack with scepter and right as the shield pops I use smite and focus block, then I gs leap in and spin. Seems to work well, on my way out I use the pull to get me some larva..

The “spin” your refering to only counts for 1 hit. Im looking for ways that i can get all 35 solo. Maybe theres a skill i don’t know about that triggers a hit, or a sigil or set of runes? anything?

maybe ring of warding/line of warding works?

Roll a ranger with SB + using a range pet + beastmaster at least 5 + serpent quickness.

I’m well aware i could solo it with a ranger, its not worth the time to level a ranger though.

Pull him as far as you can to one side and repeat until he attacks the villager on the opposite side. It may take a few cycles, but you should have plenty of time to get the shield off. Most fractal groups leave him in the middle to give them enough time regardless of the chosen villager, but with a single person you really need to play the extremes.

Also that reaper of grenth is awesome.

As far as I know, it only takes off one charge per skill “use”. As in, whirling blade will do one.

What I do know is that if he has no stacks of defiant, you can fear him through the shield (at least using Fear Me). While feared he moves at double speed, giving you ~40 seconds to take down shield stacks while he walks back. Guardian obviously has no sources of Fear so the best you can try and do is to try find some kind of consumable that fears, take down his defiant stacks, fear him when the shield comes up, and then just autoattack. Scepter autoattack is probably the fastest here, strangely enough.

Are you sure? I don’t remember about the GS (I haven’t used it in a while) but I was using Sword 3 on him and it removed more than one stack nicely. Torch 5 removes loads of stacks too (10?)

i don’t know, for me popping 1 unload on the bubble, i am not so sure it removes 8 stacks…
i can unload at least 3 times, which should be 24 stacks down, so far it doesn’t do that….

As far as pushing the grawl into a corner and hoping he goes for a far away one, its like a 1 in 10 chance, i managed to get him past 50 but it took almost an hour and at around 3gb per 2-3 minutes for hard copy recorded video thats not gonna fly, it would take a very long time. Not to mention i stepped on a rock on the edge which caused him to reset.. twice.

I’ll try a sword/torch next time even though im 99 percent sure that 1 skill = bubble tick. Otherwise secpter 2 would of finished this for me already.
