Guild Wars 2

Stopped playing around December and was just wondering if there was a patch I missed adding some sort of LFG functionality or fixed the existing one? Looking through the first 2 pages on the various forum subsections and I’m not seeing any of the usual rant/debate threads and wondering if I can install the game again.

And before the usual kneejerk responses, I’m praying for a LFG tool to look for interested players across servers and zones, NOT something that warps you into pre-made groups and to dungeons. There’s a huge pool of potential players to draw from.

To make a long story short, I love partying up and running dungeons. But I typically play during offpeak hours, and I detest sitting for an hour and a half spamming LF1M <insert dungeon here> between zones ect, when I could be wagering on the Cattle-pult whilst looking for instance.

ArenaNet outsourced this work to gw2lfg.com just like they outsourced voice chat to teamspeak/mumble/etc.

Games with built-in lfg and voice chat are much better though as a “complete package”.

Like Isaac said, gw2lfg.com is what most people use.

However, there will be an in-game LFG released sometime in 2013 (hopefully), although the actual date is not yet known.

The best of gw2lfg.com is that I can leave my tablet with its app on autorefresh on my side while I run around doing other stuff… so I know of the groups lfm to do things without the need of alt-tab.

4 patches into 2013 and no sign of it. It’s kinda sad that it takes them so long to do these things (“we’re working on it but have no ETA” is the new “working as intended”) but a LFG tool should show up sooner or later this year. Why they don’t implement a basic LFG tool and improve on its functionality over the year I don’t know.

Personally, I hope for a pain-free implementation with enough options to satisfy everyone.

Your best bet besides GW2LFG is a dungeon guild. They are on every server.

Just make sure you find one that is active during your play times.

I run one and most are our runs are becuse someone logs on and says “Hey all, anyone up for a (X) dungeon run”.
