Made this Topic to try and help new players understand alittle better. If you have something to add that will help. Plz add ur comments.

AoE’s ( Area of effect ) In GW2 the Bosses and mob that use AoE’s will lay down red circles on the ground that gives you a 2sec warning that u need to be out of this area in 2sec or ur going to get hit. Some AoE’s hurt more then others.

1. The biggest tip I can give that has helped me the most. Is learning to play Zoomed out more. As a Warrior and someone loves to play melee. I have always played zoomed in so I could see the Boss in the eyes. But in GW2 and with AoE’s played zoomoed in is nothing but death. The Bosses are alot biggest and if u are looking up at them. Then u cant see the Red Circles on the gound are sure to die.
2. The Dodge key . I think that by default it is the " V " key . You can change this key in the options to what fits u best. When u see the AoE’s ( Red Circles ) u usally have 2secs to move. If u hit the Dodge key most of the time it will get u out of the area. Wait about about 1sec and u can usally move back in unless u see more red circles. Then that is when its a good thing to have a ranged weapon.
3. Above ur red health bubble is a yellow bar for ur Endurance. That gives u 2 dodges when it is full. Try to use ur dodges sparingly.
4. There is under the options combat/movement There is Melee Attack Assist. This will help those that end up running though the Bosses. When playing zoomed out its hard to not to end going though the Boss and alot of attack do not attack behide u. This makes them like a wall where u stop instead of walking though them

Everyone plays diffrent. As a mostly melee player. I usally melee until I see the red circles and then dodge out of the area. After the dodge if I dont see anymore red circles I run back in with melee. If there is other red circles I switch to my ranged weapon until the timer runs out for my melee. The timer reset and I can go back to melee. I dont see any AoE’s I go back to melee and into the fight. Knowing what Bosses do mostly AoE’s and the ones doing mostly melee helps alot. I change from 2 melee weapons to 1 melee and 1 range depending on the Boss. But u do have to do this when not in battle. GW2 will not let u change up weapons while in combat.

If your use to played zoomed all the way in. Maybe take a day or 2 and go zone hopping and fight diffrent mobs until u get use to playing zoomed out some. Its very hard to get use to sometimes. About half zoomed out seems to work best for me.
