I know theres been complaints about the dungeons being too easy. And this is true.
With the exception of the Arah dungeon.
Route 3 is the only route that I have successfully been able to reach the final boss. Gigantis Lupas.
And its a complete joke.
For the first phase you can take him easily with a simple little slap slap range.
But as soon as phase two kicks in he can instantly wipe out your team, with no chance for a res.
The Waypoint is also miles away from the boss. Its insanity.
We aren’t amateurs and we don’t “suck”.
With the best gear in the game and a team thats very familiar with this dungeon Gigantus continues to allude us even when we are using the correct strategy.
Please fix this “Gigantic” error. Its infuriating.
If he is instantly wiping out your team in phase two, you’re doing it wrong. Clearly amateurs.
I’m surprised with the sheer amount of information available currently on this encounter, people are still claiming this to be 1. last boss 2. difficult.
Make some effort before crying out for non-existent bug fixes on what little PvE challenges this game still has to offer.
You are clearly doing something wrong, its either you actually don’t know the strat for the boss or you’re full glass cannon with 10k hp .
Here is a video of Giganticus Lupicus:
Arah is the best balanced dungeon in the game. Nerfing it would ruin the last piece of slightly challanging PVE content.

Here is a video of Giganticus Lupicus:
Even the people in this video are being instantly downed after one attack as well as complaining how the boss can hit you “mid-roll”.
I only watched a minute of this video and this information is apparent.
As for a glass cannon, my character is a 22k HP Guardian Tank with exotic sigiled armour. It still instantly downs me as well as being able to spam the rest of my team.
So if two of us go down at the same time (which is very likely due to aoe) then its basically a loss. Since the aoe will strike again in the same place.
I’m not here to troll or be trolled by you guys.
Nobody cares about how big and bad you are. I’ve spoken to several people who all agree with me that its too overpowered.
He NEVER one shoted me or anyone in my group. If you read the description, he basicly used almost all his abilities on me so it’s “normal” for me to go down since I will be out of roll.
My first down was actually 2 hit of the circles, not 1 shot. Everything he does is avoidable, you just need to spec and play properly.
There is no way you’re getting one shot with 22k HP.
And how am I trolling you when I posted a video on how we did it?
It’s not overtuned, you just need to know his abilities and know when to roll / avoid red circles on the ground.

If he’s instantly downing a player with 22k hp, then he must’ve eaten a lot of grubs.

He was +2 Empowered.

Well, there you go, obviously you played poorly and let him eat 2 grubs

I was referring to posts like this,
“If he is instantly wiping out your team in phase two, you’re doing it wrong. Clearly amateurs.”
I’ve done Lupus a dozen times all unsuccessful with various teams. Although I do admit the majority of those teams consisted of melee units, but we were using ranged weapons on phase 2 due to crowd control.

I’m trolling because I’m calling you what you are? ok.
2 stacks of empower doesn’t seem like enough to oneshot
2 Stacks of Empower is definitely enough to one shot a player that is set up as a glass cannon. I posted a thread a few days ago for Jotun Path in Arah, due to the long waypoint run:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Arah-Jotun-Path-Giganticus-Lupicus-and-his-dreaded-waypoint-run/first#post400852
The thread also links to a video that I recorded with my (Thief) point of view:

The only increase in vitality I have for this fight is from Practiced Tolerance (5% of precision is converted into vitality). I normally have 10.8k, but in this instance I have 11.8k health. Boss functions are in the description, as well as suggestions.
The guy has 22k health though. That’s not glass cannon.
This boss is stupidly easy once you learn mechanics jeez you guys are spoiled and spoon fed everything once you face a challenge you come complain instead of learning how to overcome it. The problem here is that this boss isn’t hard it is that previous bosses and other instance bosses are so basic that when people finally fight a boss where you don’t autoattack and afk out people get hit by a brick wall and don’t know what to do. What is up with all these arah too hard threads lately?

Why not make other dungeons more difficult?
Mind = Blown
Path 2 and 3 aren’t that hard, and GL isn’t that hard.
Arah is insane but not because of GL, because path 1 only has 1 wp and path 4 has the real insane boss known as Simin.
P.S. GL is a “mid” boss in all 4 paths, not the last boss.
I’m in blues and greens (and one exotic) and not particularly specced for vitality, but aside from my first time facing him while I was still learning the ropes, GL has been the one of the more challenging-but-fun bosses alongside Subject Alpha. No one’s saying that you suck or that you’re not geared for it, but at the same time it’s specious to say the problem lies ONLY with the boss design and not with you. Bring someone who knows how to do it, and LISTEN to them when they’re explaining it, or read a guide and actually follow the advice given. If you do it right, he shouldn’t even eat a single grub, which makes everything much easier.
P.S. WRYYYYYY SIMIN. Seriously, you don’t know what’s broken until you throw yourself at that boss for two hours straight before getting anywhere. (At least after some reading, I know what’s actually supposed to happen, though that doesn’t make me feel any better about it!)

Even if GL eats 6 grubs he’s still doable, if you have a good team. But, on the other side, 2 grubs are enough to “oneshot” almost everybody if his Shadow Walk + regular attack combo hits.
Phase 3 can be a problem, if most of your group thinks they have to go in melee with Lupi during this phase. His AE Life Transfer heals him for ~2-3k health per target and second, which is kinda huge if 3+ targets a caught in it for 2-3seconds.
@Arah in general
In my book most bosses are too weak, they have some nice mechanics but they are a little too forgiving, especially if you can just waypoint-run them down. Lupi is the fight I enjoy most. Simin would be great too but atm she just has way too many bugs.
It’s the difference between the people that have AAA groups with decked out party members using voice claiming bosses are easy vs people who group up with whoever is around.
What were people thinking making a pug party to run a dungeon. Crazy talk I tell you. What were people thinking expecting to run a dungeon in a game without researching it? It’s all crazy talk I tell you.
What happened to all the talk that GW2 isn’t about Raids? Their dungeons seem to be rated at that difficulty level.
If you want 10% of the people to regularly run dungeons so be it. The stuff that drops from dungeons are generally junk anyways and it’s more of a time sink than anything else. Sure the exotics from tokens are great and all, but not much better than karma rewards and you’ll make more money and enjoy your time more through events than dungeons.

Lol is this a joke? I’ve never used a voip to do any dungeons i’ve done arah explorable everytime with a pug. I do request competent players to add me as a friend so in the future we can clear through faster. You also claim that you need to do research when doing a dungeon? Obviously if you look up a boss before hand you will usually do better than bull rushing it. How do you think people come up with strategies they learn from trial and error say when you are fighting giganticus you see that he summons grubs on a player and after a while they run back to him and he eats them and gains a buff so nextime you know how to deal with it. It just seems you’re all kitten off cause you can’t 1 shot every boss. I recommend Hello Kitty Island Adventures

Hard doesn’t mean its a raid.
And this especially… having only 5 people in a group should scream in your head NOT A RAID.
Anet said Explorable mode paths weren’t really designed for random pug groups.
It’s generally for serious players looking for challenging content.
Players who successfully finish it don’t get a huge stat advantage over everyone else.
But they do get some cool looking gear, and it shows.
Voip Elite Premade groups vs Chatting Pugging average people? Lmao hardly.
I started running Arah with an exotic set and green jewelry. As long as you have a semi competent team that’s pretty well geared most paths are a joke. The only path that I’m scared to run with a pug is path 4, because there’s a chance the group simply doesn’t have enough dps to get Simin down to 0.
It’s the same as in CoF pre-patch: you had the people that exploited the survival room and jumped over the door, and those that simply did it for the extra 5 tokens. People kept saying that it was freaking impossible to clear but I beg to differ. Simply pug with a group that manages to clear it, then add the cool guys to your list and make pre-made parties with them.
This makes 4 hour runs that don’t even finish get transformed into 1~2 hour (sometimes easymode) runs.
The fact that you can even pug it so easily is kind of sad considering Anet wanted the Explore routes to be kind of non-pugged.
I’ll have to say though, even if you have 2 or 3 people that know what they’re doing and successfully run it every single time with a premade, 1 or 2 baddies can spoil the run. This becomes especially apparent on Lupicus where depending on the team you might end up practically 3~4manning phase 2, which makes mistakes all the more punishing.
