Highlighted your problem for you right there.
dwayne is EASY !! like the 1st boss in cof p1 but also hides from time to time
If you all have high attack and lots of DPS then your issue was not being able to handle sparks or tears.
There are three aspects to the fight that create a balance. DPS simin, tears that freeze 20% dps (one party member), and kiting sparks. All three require dedicated roles. One person shouldn’t be holding a tear the whole time, for example. You have to be faster. Or else dodge the purple stare.
When I beat this, the advantage to ranger is ranger can DPS while throwing tears so that was my job. But it was noticeably better if I hammered on simin too so I made sure to throw a tear if I had to then dps my little heart out.
We beat it so can you.

Ranger has very high single target dps. Team composition makes zero difference unless you’re doing some speed run. 90% of players out there will fight simin exactly one time. For them, telling them their ranger can’t do it is flat out wrong. I beat it so you’re wrong. I beat it with back when simin was hard. It’s a joke now from what I heard.
There’s more to this fight than dps and if you can’t see this then you need to reevaluate your understanding of the game.
I dont know how quickly the boss is supposed to go back to stealth, but I’ve done it yesterday and we were almost unable to get her helath down fast enough. We had to run the sparks like 10-15 times before she died.
I don’t think we had little dps …we had mes, thief, necro, 2x guards(altough one of them was using only staff or scepter which is 0 dps). The problem was that she stealths every time after like 10 seconds. If you get that with a group that is not zerk then you have probably wasted an hour or two of your life. I guess that is what happened to OP too.

Short dps windows are caused by slow spark runs. The first time you get Simin to 50% she will stealth. At this point timer starts ticking. You run sparks, she is revealed and you start dps her. When the timer reaches set time (~45s) Simin stealths and timer restarts. You run the sparks again and dps her, when timer reaches kitten she stealths again resetting timer. If spark kiting takes 30s you have 15s window to dps, if sparks take 20s you have 25s to dps.
I experienced the ‘short cycle’ where Simin stealths again after about 4-7 seconds last night.
We were a new group to this path, but time after time again she would stealth again only after about 4-7 seconds of reveal time.
And there is no way the total time from when she first stealthed, plus her reveal time equaled out to any where close to 45 seconds. We were pretty slow with the sparks a few times, but even when we got them fast she would stealth again after 4-7 seconds. We seemed to be stuck at that ‘50% point’ for quite a while.
My question is, is this normal behavior for Simin or was this just a bug? I’m just trying to learn a little more about the fight but it seemed to be darn near impossible for our group at the rate it was going.

All he has stated is this: ‘ranger-high dps.’
For all we know the so called ‘high dps rangers’ are sitting there camping shortbow with their bear pets.
And yes, simin is a joke right now.

No offense man, but saying that Path 4 is too hard… That’s just… Well, that’s just BS… I can’t offer a screenshot, but I can offer the testimony of my guildies… I did p1 and p4 on the first two days of being 80. We had a Ranger, a Guardian, myself as an Ele, an Engi, and one other that I don’t remember, I think it was a warrior. We did have an issue with the Dwayna boss for about… 2 minutes? Then I being the new 80 started helping out gathering one of the sparks. After I started helping, her health started dropping.
Don’t get me wrong, I have no intentions of treating you like a bad player… However, if a Brand-New 80 can walk in there and complete Arah before even doing Story mode on it in 2 hours… Well, there really shouldn’t be a problem… The crazy thing was, I was Traited out to be Double Dagger, with 0/10/0/30/30, using a staff, staying mainly in Fire Stance. I can only imagine what it would be like if I stepped in there with my current staff build.

That should not even matter. When I did Arah 4 some months ago, we had something like a guard, a mesmer, a ranger, a necro and someone I forgot. None of us had a pure DPS build and yet Simin died in the second attempt – of course, it took some time, but even with such a flawed setup, it was not impossible.

Went for a run today with 4 first-timers pugs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RFEzVGX7wg
A little messy run, but was still enough to beat Simin in 10 minutes.
And my warrior was not even in full exotic gear.
