I think Brie is hard so that ppl wont get the invulnerable buff to kill Alphard. It’s probably just a hot fix, and fixing the whole map may be more complicated that we thought.

you can skip lupi!… but arena.net went the wrong way to “un-exploit” arah… now all ppl are f***ed… brie is rly hard to handle now for 5ppl teams… no way to do it solo anymore… BUT: Why you dont fix your buggy blocengine? alot of “exploit-portals” are aviable… in the whole map… you improve bosses instat of fix the real problem… now you f***ed the whole community not only the “exploit-sellers”…. GJ (and sry for ma bad engl.)
This is standard operating procedure. Players have been requesting sane fixes in Arah since launch — as in, make bosses required, and don’t give dungeon rewards until all bosses are defeated. Bam — problem solved. Players can skip bosses for ‘fun’ reasons (for instance, skipping to a boss to practice soloing…also it’s just hella fun to jump around on top of the Arah ruins), but the dungeon can no longer be exploited.
Instead, they just make the mechanics ridiculous (re: Alphard’s bomb, and apparently Brie’s new reset “mechanic”) that don’t really even address the problem and just make the run more frustrating for the folks who are running it legit. Alphard used to be a fun fight. Now it just makes me cringe, especially with a PUG. As pointed out — sellers can still swim-to-win, find new jumps, etc…invisible walls and terrible, nonsensical mechanics are band-aids. Band-aids precoated in AIDS, specifically.

I think that’s why, too….but it’s a kitten-poor fix — the party gets phase shifted before she dies. If she resets at 10%, the player fighting can just AFK out of Brie’s range at 50% and let the party faceroll the rest of the dungeon.
It didn’t fix anything.
The proper way to fix this is to contain the phase-shifted buff to players in Brie’s arena. I’m not holding my breath, though.

Actually it made the boss more interessting for grps, but it ruined my daily solos so im very sad about this.
And the worst part ppl can still swim and SKIP LUPICUS (omfg)

Good luck mate. I tried several times and many routes (forums, support tickets, etc) trying to just find out if the Alphard insta-bomb was intentional. Very polite requests, asked nicely, made a clear description of the behavior and why it seemed like a bug…

Every patch we wait with baited breath while the divine developers who never speak to us make their changes and we hope. We hope that maybe one of them misclicked the dungeon forums on their way to the living world subsection. We hope they accidentally saw one of the hundreds of threads on this, and we hope they listened. My friends, we have hoped. And this hope is ill-founded, for it assumes that a bizarre chain of events will lead to a dev taking the necessary steps to fix dungeons. Instead what we see here today,as we have seen many days before it, and as we will continue to see.. are kittened up changes to dungeons with little to no regard for the reality or for the community who plays within them.
A moment now for Arah. May we remember it for what it could have been, and not for what they are doing to it and neglecting to fix.

The only way is to force their hands. Make videos, make it public and well known. ANet will have no choice. Really, there is no other way. I personally have recorded and sent arenanet video showing exactly what the exploits are and suggested how to fix them. To this day NONE of them are patched.
I checked videos play history and the ones I sent to anet have been watched ONCE on the day I sent it in and have not been touched ever since. It’s been months now. I’ve lost my faith in getting exploits patched peacefully.
Or you know, just keep it quiet and keep exploiting for your own gain… -.-
What’s up with Brie? Yesterday (pre-patch), right before killing her, my whole party was teleported a previous part of the run and we had to kill her again (totally legit run). Is this the issue being talked about, or something even newer?

Just kill those mobs before they kill the terminal, its quite tricky;
you have to watch for the deadeyes because they either knock you out of the godmode or run themselfes out of it, you can get obstructed to lure them to you.
Than the 3 Technicans, mostly aggroed by grubs, you can kite them around those corners ,so that they cast there stuns against the wall, and dmg them.(anyway take stability with you, it helps with the deadeyes too)
Its tricky to watch the terminal meanwhile, cause the berserkers cleave and deadeyes (not sure of it hits the terminal) pierces.
Anyways i like that change! it makes the kinda dull fight way more interessting for groups as for solos.
Good direction to make dungeons more challenging (i like the alphard change aswell)
but for kittens sake, PLEASE FIX THE EXPLOITS its a HUUUGE exploit because ppl make lots of money with it, and screw legit seller

Oh thanks… Didn’t even know that was one of the mechanics!
I didn’t either for the longest time, lol. Then one day I was running in a low DPS group and suddenly we were surrounded by inquest techs in the middle of the fight xD
None of us know what happened, it’s a very ‘WTF?’ moment the first time it happens. We all figured it was a glitch at first (after all, it is Arah!) ;-)
Another sad example of how a lazy fix on an exploit significantly impacts legitimate players.
In any case, I did manage to solo her in the end. For me, it was basically 100b whenever I could (after her laser) and landing eviscerate at ~50% to drop her to 35-40%. It basically takes full out DPS and pray to the GW2 gods (and I don’t mean human gods) that you don’t get the lightning spawning under you right as you start 100b all the time. (Also had 25 stacks, 10% undead, and 80pwr/60 prec food)
I’m a bit worried what’s going to happen to this when they nerf the crit damage, however.
the arah run itself is still possible, a simple trick at the boss and here we go, no problem solo with the mobs ….
kittenload of bugs, reported 100000 times, in the game for ages, easy to fix, never fixed … welcome to arenanet, where we just do wat we want and dont care whats actually happening in the game …

I think the biggest bug in Arah is p3. When you finsih p3 you get 1.5ish gold. A comparable amount to Ac, HoTW, CoF, TA…I am surprised players have not reported this one more, that they only received 50% of what should have been a reasonable reward for a dungeon that features stronger mob types, has more champions and generally more ferocious encounters.
