Guild Wars 2

I’m not going to give away any spoilers in this first post, but I want to see if there are so many others out there who feel this way.

Arah is way too easy! After running the punishing gauntlet of the previous dungeons, finally the last one and it’s… cake! Especially the final battle which felt like such a massive letdown. =\

I believe that they did that for one reason, everybody has to complete it in order to finish their story. If they made it incredibly difficult then some people would have a hard time finishing the storyline.

As for the final boss being anticlimactic, I could agree with you there. With that said I completely enjoyed it all especially rolling through most of it with my guild.

The various ‘stages’ were definitely awesome by comparison to other dungeons or personal story quests. But the bosses went down so fast, it makes you wonder how this enemy could really be such an infamous threat to Tyria.

I think the whole dungeon should have been more about Zhaitan. Epic boss fight!

I guess the previous personal story quest objectives really DID weaken zhaitan. :P

Considering by that point Zhaitan was…

a) Blind to the world around him
b) Starving since his sources of magic where cut off
c) Running out of troops

…then it makes a bit of sense it brought him down to a point where he could be fought. On top of all this you also:

1) Sawed off his lower body with a wave motion gun
2) Tore huge chunks out of him with the tractor beams on the ship
3) Broadsided him with 18" guns that hurt him on a metaphysical level

Taking all that into consideration the fact you where able to kill him that way makes a lot of sense. That and you didn’t do something stupid like walk up and poke him in the toenail until he died like some other draconic demi-god I know about. *cough*Deathwing*cough*

Lore-wise it doesn’t matter what happens. Player wants to be the hero. Not watch some dang Asura to do most of the work.

Denying the events of the fight doesn’t change the fact that they happened. Also it’s “spamming 2 and killing tentacles” last I checked. :P

Personally I have yet to run this dungeon with someone who didn’t like the fight, and I’ve run it many times. Granted I admit the fight was stupid before the phase 3 and music fix. Afterwards though it was a pretty solid 5-man encounter.

Best Arah bosses

1. Double Dragon.

2. Single Dragon

3. Mouth of Zhaitan

I think if they removed phase 1 (Gathering/3 bosses)/dragon fight and had you start with the Mouth of Zhaitan as the first warm up boss then rip the dragon phase out and replace it with more Zhaitan specific stuff it would have been better. I would have liked to actually fight against him personally more.

I’m actually quite happy we didn’t fight him on foot. Quite simply trying to kill a monster that huge on foot would be, in a word, stupid. He’s not gonna go down because we stab him in the foot over and over again. If you’ve ever seen the damage a battleship’s guns can do to a target, let alone with shots specifically designed to rip you apart with magic, shooting him with the airship’s guns makes the most sense.
