We were at last boss in Arah p3 when we were kicked out. It appears that party leader left but he says he didn’t so is this bug or someone exploited us somehow?

If the party leader left then the 4 left of you should still be a party if you got kicked out. If you all was alone after getting out I would assume it happen when the game was updated.
If that’s not the case then I don’t know

If there is an update you get a message that you have 3 hours left to finish the dungeon before the game will restart, so that should not be the case :P I can’t imagine anything else than the party leader left. I did actually leave party once by a mistake because I was moving the camre a lot and managed to click on leave party so that might be the case also.

Resets only happen when:
- Party leader logs onto an alt
- Party leader leaves group

I have had login server issues in the past during login server maintenance where my party has been disbanded randomly, but I don’t think it has been anything prevalent and was only during scheduled maintenance periods. It is also possible that your party leader was lying and did one of the above two things to reset the dungeon. ANet has confirmed that they are looking for resolutions to this.

Ok, noob question (cause i played dungeons for fun, not really grinding gold or exploiting) why whould he reset?
And good job Arenanet for ruining another thing, now i can’t even play with others for fun in dungeons (yes i have guild, yes i play them but not all the time they want to play what i want or other way around)

Resetting is done by players for a lot of reasons:
- Griefing
- Accidentally
- Because the dungeon path is bugged and must be restarted
- Because the group is farming only a part of the dungeon and needs to reset it to do it again

ANet has confirmed that they’re looking into ways to transfer ownership of an instance so that resets can’t be done to grief others and so that it isn’t done accidentally to ruin a run.

Bah, i stoped playing this when they introduced Ascended gear and grind based gameplay and came back to see if anything is better but it’s even worse
2 of the guys in party didn’t even want to ress us just so they can get better loot from one of the champions (and one of them got exotic, while we got blues) tolerated that, but this is just anoying

For the record, you get the same loot from enemies regardless of how many people contribute to the kill / are alive. Sounds like you just had a God-awful team, to be honest.

Hmm, not sure if its same loot, one guy in my last guild told that you don’t get money from the last boss in AC (i think p2) if you are dead while he dies, but it was 2 months ago
But this is just one of the many problems that they said they will fix and it gets even worse every time

You’re correct; if you’re dead and don’t earn experience from a kill, you won’t get loot. However, that does not improve other players’ loot.

But they still didn’t ress us (and i was really close to them with no mobs around me, champion at 75%)

In 9/10 of cases, it is a bad idea to hard res during combat. The rate is very slow and it effectively removes N players from the battle where N is the number ressing +1 being revived. In dungeons like Arah, you really ought to use a WP and run back. I recognize that some bosses like Alphard prevent that sort of thing, but that’s by design. I only really hard res players in fractals for instance, since there are no WPs to use. (And even then, sometimes it’s better to just reset entirely)

i know about ressing, but this was just stupid cause boss couldn’t really do them anything (that mage crusher in arah p3)

I didn’t rez you because it was a waste of time, possibly deadly for the two of us who were alive and the player that got exotic got it from the chest to which you had an access, not from the champ (who drops mostly nothing).

About the “bug”. The guy who entered the instance sweared that he did nothing and I ran arah with him few times already so I’m prone to believe him. Either he picked “Leave Party” by some accident or that was some kind of anomaly.

I have seen people accidentally leave a party as the leader by right clicking or hitting the ‘P’ key or something. If you believe him, then it was probably an accident.

Yea, I assumed he did it by accident and isn’t even aware. Especially considering the fact that he was alone after being booted out, while the rest of us were still in the party.

A couple of kitten necros kicked our instance owner the other day in AC — we’d already made it all the way to Kholer!

Glad to hear they’re looking into fixing this!

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Last time they “confirmed” [The Crossing] was in the game it really wasn’t.
