Arah explorables
– Vick Frayn- Elementalist.
Alphard is the second to last boss, don’t worry the last boss is rather easy in comparison.
Perhaps you should list some of the problems you are running into with Alphard? (I posted a video of that path in the video sticky, maybe it’ll help) he is actually a step down in difficulty from Gigantipus. I see no reason why a group that can clear Lupicus can’t down Alphard in a reasonable amount of time.
Personally, I like the difficulty of Arah. It’s not impossible, so don’t give up hope. I’ve gotten through all but one of the explorable paths so far, but not without a large amount of patience and practice (and energy drinks). I have seen a few guides that some helpful people have written, and you can bet that the writers of those guides spent quite a bit more than 4 hours inside of Arah.
Just try to sit back and analyze the boss both before you run in, and while you are fighting him (TS or another VoIP works wonders for this among other things), and then try to figure out the best course of action.
And don’t worry about those money you’ve lost, just think of it as an investment. Once you start to get better at it you’ll start making a real profit. From the rumors I’ve heard, Giganticus Lupicus drops exotics relatively frequently. It’s just like learning to UWSC in Guild Wars 1, for the first few runs it seems impossible and you spend a bunch of money on consumables, but after to get it all down you start raking in the money.
Best of luck
Rofl that boss is stupidly easily. You bascially hide behind the haystacks when he teleports to the middle, dodge his pull bomb drop and kill addds when he spawns them yet you cant handle that simple task sigh. Don’t worry anet will nerf everything so that a baby could do these dungeons.
They honestly need to make previous content more difficult the game is too easy so players get into the mind set of autoattacking everything and going afk then when they actually have to learn mechanics they can’t because they have been conditioned by all this easy content so they get paralyzed from the neck down then proceed to the forums to whine about it instead of seeing what they did wrong

as Roro said when he teleports to the middle you need to hide behind those barracades. and when his adds spawn kill them, if you ignore them well thats damage u could have avoided. id also suggest getting a mesmer or any class that has an ability to reflect projectiles. feedback for instance does wonders when alphard decides to unload.
Our core group has Arah paths down to under an hour except for the Seer path, that path has some really garbage boss fights, as if that path in particular was added last minute with minimal or no testing done at all.
It just takes a bit of practice, and some optimally geared and traited players.
For Alphard make sure you bring some reflect and heavy melee train, so long as your melee players know to not get hit by the bomb. If you can get past Alphard you can easily beat the last boss, she is probably solo’able even.
Yea, seems like PUGs are a real NONO in Arah… would help if Arah gear was better than the rest. Still a shame though, 4 hours and nothing

@ Drake – Yeah PUGs are a no-no, but if you don’t have a guild you’re out of luck and good luck finding a guild i’ve been trying to find a guild that does arah runs, it doesnt help that I come home from work close to day reset so everyones pretty much done with their runs, so I have no choice but to run something else.
Finding people to run Arah is very rare, and with PUGs your chance of success are slim, specially with crap DPS bosses like that priest of Dwayna having to respec as full dps to beat her fast because she’ll regen like a mofo.
I’m pretty much done with Arah except on weekends and even then it’s a pain. I run Twilight Arbor and it’s much better, 1 hr runs most of the time can easly get 180 tokens a day, and you can easily find people.
Retired Until Expansion or Meaningful Content is Released.
Well i did a group Arah with my guild, ( WPAK, like 480 members :P) Full Team Speak, and it was fun and took like no time.. but of course that was path 3, dunno bout path 2, hate it.

And god kitten I’m so proud that I’ve killed Giganticus the legit way.
And I love how inappropriate words turn to “kitten”.

Ive done every path of arah now besides seer. They’re really not that bad besides simin.
Simin was just… ugh. Literally every group ive seen do simin had it glitch out such that during one of the spark pulls they only needed to lure 1 spark (causing her not to regen at all)
Tried for 3 hours last night and that never happened once. Also the circles were constantly bugging out so you couldnt tell where the last spark was meant to go, and sometimes it would path through the circle about 4 times before finally deciding to be caught.
Anet seriously needs to revamp simin
1. make them melee monsters, holy kitten luring ranged things into circles is the dumbest idea ever.
2. Make the circles actually work properly. I should be able to see which one isnt filled, and the monster shouldnt be able to be standing directly ontop of said circle and not be caught.
3. Give some indication for her firestorm attack when its damage spikes. Right now there’s literally no difference between the firestorms that do 800 damage, the firestorms that do 5000 damage, or the firestorms that do 9000 damage. You will note that this boss is basically impossible without a heavy DPS comp. Which means those firestorms can and will kill someone in under 2 seconds if they dont immediately react to something that they may have believed wouldnt do all their hp in damage.
I’ve successfully run with pugs for Arah multiple times (Jotun and Mursaat mostly, didn’t get time to try Forgotten yet). On Alphad, I’m a guardian so Wall of Reflect gives a lot of breathing room (reflects back 15-20k unload). Pretty much just hide behind crates when he teleports back the middle. When you’re out of crates, spread out and max range so you can have an easier time dodging the balls. If you get hit, it shouldn’t bounce to other players and bounce back to kill you (since you should be at max range from each other). It also helps that the pugs listen to the direction from the leader (in most cases, it’s me) when doing Arah. Usually take me 3 tries to kill Giganticus Lupicus with a fresh pug that’s new to the instance. Maybe I just got lucky with the group.
Tried Path 4 this evening for the Second time…We got all the way to the Priestess of Dwayna. The orbs were glitchy at best and the whole mechanic very clunky. Really bad dungeon design in my opinion. Spent over 4 hours in that dungeon path with not a thing to show for it….
Just attack the boss dodging back if kited, fast on adds, cover if aoe begin.
Stay coupled when covering, waiting the aoe attack, sometimes even covering you’re 1shotted, so your partner can revive you.
Once you start to get better at it you’ll start making a real profit. From the rumors I’ve heard, Giganticus Lupicus drops exotics relatively frequently.)
rumors of Lupicus dropping exotics… erm… hahahahahaahahahhahahahaha
Not just Lupicus sometimes don’t drop nothing at all, but mostly drop white, sometimes blue, rarely green. Exotics… hahahahahahaha
Just so you know, no exotic drop anywhere in the world from any mob. Some rumors are circulating about a staff who drop with a nonexistent drop rate. That’s the only kind of exotic you will see drop.
Sorry, your “rumor” made me laugh 5 minutes
