It’s almost impossible to get a group that wants to do this explorable all the way through, even more impossible to get them to stay during the dungeon.

Most people want to do the first few EASY bosses and then repeat BECAUSE THE REWARDS ARE THE SAME FOR ALL BOSSES.

Scale the rewards to go up as you get further in. Make people want to learn the content instead of just saying lets just farm the easy bosses.

For example instead of 4 shards in the start make it 2 shards, make them if they want to repeat the first few bosses for rewards they need to do thatkittenthing a bunch of time, encourage them to goto the end, where the last 3 bosses start giving like 8, 10, 12 per boss in the chest (raise it up two per boss).

People don’t even care about the content they want the rewards, so make the rewards in the start not worthy of repeating unless they want to repeat the beginning 150 times to get the armor piece when they could do the full dungeon maybe 8 times for the same effect.

I’d go as far as to refund all armors and cut the shards everyone made in half, because not one single person did full on runs EVERYTIME for their whole armor pieces. At this point the ones that have full armor sets from just repeating the start have no reason to do it anymore either or any intent on going all the way through.

I spent 12 hours in there yesterday 8 of them were pugging for lupricus and I’d say 4 of those hours were not combat but asking for people to come and running to him.

Here’s some of the comments I experienced
“why would anyone want to intentionally fight lupricus?”
“Lfg [142 Shards]”

and more that had to do with going all the way through is pointless (not even worth the experience of completing the dungeon) and this has to do with no reward scaling. Most people don’t even want to learn the content atm.

I would also like to say the items in the chests should also be scaled, lower chances of rares in the first few, then, on and after lupricus the chances per rares in chests get noticeably higher.

Lupricus needs to be that middle dungeon hill you go over for your then very high chance of good rewards & good amounts of shards per boss and for him.

This encourages people to learn to fight him and fight him right even in pug groups.

I have nothing against shard running, but when it is making people that want to finish the dungeon not be able to find people that want to finish the dungeon because there is hundreds of people on his server doing that dungeon but doing it the wrong way and even looking for groups while he is aksing there is something wrong.

I’d rather wait and see what the reward and difficulty changes are going to be like on monday. I think that your solution, while workable, addresses the symptom (grinding) and not the problem (stuff needing grinding).

No mine has nothing to do with grinding.

Mine has to do with doing the first part repetitively and having no concerns with doing the full dungeon because it just isn’t rewarding.

I watched a vid where these guys completed the dungeon and the very last words before cut screen and after the ending chest was “That was ridiculous”.

First boss chest 2 shards, second 4 shards, increases by two as you go along into chests, this would make the ending chest give like 12 shards or so and be more rewarding as you go along making players want to finish the dungeon instead of doing the first parts.

Also, the chance of getting rares/exotics from the chests increase as you go deeper in (per chest).

It’s this type of the farther I go the better it gets, that makes players want to finish the dungeon instead of repeat the easy content for rewards.

This has nothing to do with grinding being a problem. This has to do with skipping the actual content of the dungeon for easy rewards, which anet has already tried to get rid of to encourage people to do the full dungeon.

Grinding is also cut down when you are getting more per chest as you go in.

Got to finish the dungeon today, but still think the rewards should be scaled to encourage the full runs.

it will have to be a lot more than 2 extra shards to make groups do full runs.not worth the time to kill the other bosses for just 2 extra shards.if its doubled for each boss then yea it will be worth it but just 2 extra is a waste of time

Bump, the stuff needs to be scaled start to ending ending having better rewards than the start.

Period.

If the shard farmers were only getting two shards on that first run it probably would be more worth it also.

I don’t see a single person doing seers and I won’t be doing that path again as it only gave us one shard every single chest.

Seers is by far the easiest route for Arah lol. Now that the token system changed, youll see a lot more people going for Seers than anything else Xd

Did the token system change today?

haven’t had a chance to read the notes however, forgotten was byfar the quickest path you could get 8 shards in ten minutes.
