Hi

So this is a really nooby question!
I have been playing this game for a while and beeing running dungeons.Just for fun with pugs.
I have got the second warrior dps build.
But i got no idea how to do this spider boss in the beginning. And it feels like all my parties have the same problem.

I often start with shooting the gargoyles and then the spiders to spawn the boss.
Just jumping in with this build gets me killed really easy even if i change some skills to condition removal.

Is it beter to keep a long range weapon? Or?
How do you do him without 9/10 times getting the team partly killed on the first try. ( i pass it always it just feels like a hassle) .

The spider queen only spawns after all the lvl 1 and lvl 2 spiders are killed, so your group can kill the lvl 35 ones and leave a lvl 1 spider for last. What usually gets me killed there is if i get caught by the web spray from the spider boss (which causes immobilize) then she shoots an aoe poison on me, to avoid that as a warrior you can pick that trait that breaks immobilize when you use a movement skill or just have a warhorn.

And the mini spiders poison atack can be reflected, so if a guardian brings a wall of reflection it helps.

- Bait out the poison AOE
- Strafe and attack her flank when she sprays the net
- Burst behind her back to avoid her auto
- Move around and use block if necessary

I’m not sure which build you are running, but if you’re the only warrior in the party, it is best to switch to the Phalanx Strength build and use Greatsword so that you can generate might to provide offensive support for your party.

And if you are learning content in an unorganized group, it is good to have a ranged weapon on swap. If you ever need to recover HP, you can range for a bit to regain health before coming back to melee.

Couple things I would like to add.

1. She will use the web spray on the person with lowest health %, always. (not very useful unless playing in a group or solo’ing with pets.

2. To successfully avoid the web spray dodging once won’t be enough, she will keep tracking you as long as she doesn’t hit something, however If you block it, it will count as if she hit something and will keep spraying in the direction she was when you blocked, this way you can sidestep while blocking the first hit.

3. Depending on the duration of the fight, you might want to lure the AoE away from her by running in the direction you want to AoE to be.

4. If you are playing in a group, you might want to interrupt the poison AoE and try to coordinate a burst, her HP is relatively low, the longer the interrupt, the better, (Bane signet 3 seconds, deep freeze 5 second)

5. Projectile destruction/reflect is very helpful to deal with leftover spider, they hit a lot when ignored. ( wall of reflection, swirling wind, magnetic aura, smoke screen.

She tracks for the first 2 pulses, double dodge or use a multi block skill like riposte to block then break the skill and attack for the rest of the pulses.

Oh… I didn’t know she overshot the poison aoes if you jumped up mid-air during the channel.

Parties usually have problem with spider queen because they don’t know what is killing them (small spiders) and that their attacks can be reflected or projectile blocked. Once these little buggers are dead, killing queen is easy.

I find it easiest to leave out the small spiders on her spawn spot as last, clear the rest and fire thingies, then kill the last baby spider when the party is on the spawn spot. When the new small spiders are spawned, that’s when people should use reflects on her spawn spot (staff ele magnetic aura), guard/thief (wall of reflection/smoke screen, you need to stand inside of these), mesmers have tons of reflects too but I found that most have no idea what it is or when/how to use it.

So if you die a lot in this fight:
1. ask others in party if they have reflects/projectile blocks
2. don’t rush killing the last spider
3. as warr you are melee so learn queen’s attacks

Also, it’s a good idea to stack might away from last spider, then kill it.
