Any word on why the stat combinations for the current Ascended Rings are so very different from the current stats up to Exotics? Berserker Rings get a Berserker Gem, Carrion Rings get a Carrion Gem, etc. And why the Ascended Backpacks aren’t covering even half of the stat combinations?

For Rings there are the following combinations.

• Berserker’s – Berserker’s Gem (A correct one!)
• Berserker’s – Valkyrie Gem
• Soldier’s – Soldier’s Gem (A correct one!)
• Cavalier’s – Cavalier’s Gem (A correct one!)
• Vassar’s & Relena’s (which don’t fit any nomenclature) – Rabid Gem
• Rabid – Rabid Gem (A correct one!)
• Rabid – Apothecary’s Gem
• Strong – Explorer’s Gem
• Hearty – Soldier’s Gem + Magic Find
• Celestial – Celestial Gem

There are 4 rings that actually follow the stat combinations of previous rings up to Exotics. The rest are lacking and generally make no sense.

As for backpacks, there are the following.

• Soldier’s
• Rabid
• Berserker’s
• Cavalier’s
• Wayfarer’s

Where are Rampager, Valkyrie, Knight, Shaman, Carrion, Cleric, Magi, and Apothecary?

I think you have answered your own question, they aren’t there.

Just because the gem matches the trinket doesn’t mean it’s correct, sometimes changing them will give you a better balance of stats.
