So over the last month me and a small group of friends have been doing the daily T3 fractals almost every day. Three of us are in full ascended gear which we’ve crafted, and the two others have not crafted anything.

At this point one of the none ascended guys have recieved 3 armour boxes, 2 weapon boxes, 1 accessory and 20+ rings. The other none ascended guy has recieved 2 armour boxes, 1 weapon box and 10+ rings.

Me personally with my full crafted acsended gear have recieved 0 armour boxes, 0 weapon boxes 10+ rings and 1 accessory. The same goes with the 2 other full crafted ascended guys, some rings and zero weapons or armour.

So my question is do you think anet put in some kind of code that will recognize if a player is wearing ascended gear or not, if they have 500 crafting, and then not reward them with anything or is this just pure RNG?

At this point our very lucky druid is now wearing full ascended gear minus shoulders and backpiece and have 4 weapons (he got 2 armour boxes and 2 weapon boxes prior to this month of grinding fractals). The 3 ascended guys have yet to see these mythical boxes that apparently drop in fractals. Coincidence?

I highly doubt it, it’d be extra work and if anyone ever found out it is actually true and not just RNG, well the kittenstorm would be quite a sight.

Personally I just have a feeling that new/returning players have some kind of boost to their luck, just seems everytime someone just comes back they get awesome luck for a week or two, but again even that from an objective standpoint it’d be a lot of extra work and just not worth it.

However having stopped playing for 8 months and just gotten back this last 4 weeks, I’ve recieved 6-7 ascended armor boxes, 1 weapon, and 3 golden skins. I believe the weapon and one of the armor pieces were from WvW while the rest were fractals.

It’s just RNG. I have full ascended on all the chars I do FOTM with and I get quite a few asc drops.

Can confirm, it’s just RNG. On my full ascended ele I’ve gotten 6 weapon boxes and several armor boxes from t4’s, and nothing on my DH that’s about 1/2 ascended from t4s when I’ve done just as many t4 fractals on it

The drop rate is really low on Expert+Adept+Initiate chests combined. A month worth of data for 5 people isn’t necessarily enough to draw any conclusions.

In other words, your drops are consistent with RNG.

If you’re already fully ascended, get the AR to move up to T4 fractals and all of you will get better chances. I think it’s more a case of those guys being unusually lucky rather than you being unlucky.

Definitely. Those are some really good drops for T3.

Thanks for all the answers. We are close to the T4 fractals now, so I’m looking forward to seeing the droprates from those. I guess our druid and ele are just insanely lucky, and I’m happy it’s those two guys getting the loot, because the rest of us are pretty decked out to begin with.

Even with t4’s I’ve been getting hardly any chests. mostly asc mats ( not that I mind getting damask/deld ingots, I have virtually no need for asc chests anymore, so the gold value is better for me).

I suppose its possible the chests favour giving mats when you’re already geared out. Still helps getting more gear if you need it but also gold value.

Do I have enough faith that anet has that much foresight? Not in the slightest.

I’ve just attributed my results to RNG and not running fotm so often.

I just recently got back into fractals after not doing them since they brought everyone back to fractal 30. I was a bit confused and frustrated with the AR stuff but i figured it out and with that said. Ive only gotten 2 rings from fractal 45-63.

I dont know what it is but i cant ever seem to get a decent drop any where in this game. I have more PvP matches then everyone in my guild but 1, more kills in PvE then everyone in my guild besides 2 and i have the 2nd highest fractal level at 63.

Yet i have never gotten a precursor drop and have had maybe 6-7 ascended weapons/armor drops. Yet some guild members have had 4-5 pre’s never done fractals higher then 20 yet was able to get full ascended for 1 character do low levels etc etc etc.

Its completely random as i see it.
