How about no. Dungeons aren’t even fun as it is right now.
I’ve been wanting that for months now.
I won’t even say the reasons for it because it’s obvious and everyone knows.
The issue is these dungeons become a virtual tug of war between players. Take Arah p4 Simin, pre patch. “Too hard please nerf”
Same with p1, pleas to buff it, will result in less people doing it, and more forums posts resulting in a forever see sawing of players wanting it changed.
Why do you feel your way should be implemented over everyone elses? Should all easy dungeon modes be nerfed? SE p3. This could be a snowball effect.
Because Simin was nerfed, doesnt mean all hard dungeon paths should be nerfed
Dungeons are tug of war because we don’t have normal mode/hard mode like in GW1.
Normal mode – easy, low reward
Hard mode – tough as nails, good rewards.
That should please everyone outside of those who will complain HM is too hard but they still want the rewards…which I’m sure there will be many.
If you think it’s too easy and you don’t enjoy it, don’t play it. There are a ton of other dungeons you can do. Alot of people enjoy taking a very easy very fast dungeon, and trying to do it as fast/efficiently as possible to make it more of a challenge. So these people should no longer be able to do that in cof1 because it’s too easy for you and it bores you? Live and let live, and if you aren’t having fun/don’t feel rewarded doing something, there is always something else you could be doing. Once it’s nerfed it will just be another dungeon path whose reward isn’t nearly worth the time spent in it, and it will be abandoned. All the people who complain about how badly it needs to be nerfed will do it once post-nerf and probably never do it again. Just because you aren’t enjoying a certain aspect of the game and other people are, doesn’t mean it should be changed to what you want.

I also think it’s too easy at the moment. But I do appreciate that by runing CoF p1 and p2 daily on all 4 toons I have, allowed me to deck my mes in exotics, get a second (and currently working on a third p/v/c set) for my thief. Once I get all the gear I need, I don’t think I’ll keep running it that much.
The main problem is that it’s too profitable. You get exo gear/or rares (ectos) and you get 1gold per path. It’s a win win situation. But from my experience only a small portion of players only do that. So I don’t see a major problem with it.
By a fix, I don’t mean to make it longer, just make it impossible to do with only a zerker party.
If it was made impossible for a zerker party, it would be impossible for the entire game. I cant think of one instance where you need “Tanks” or “non zerkers”. Care to come up with the mechanics?

It’s not just this, people will always complain no matter what Anet does. People should just start worrying about themselves and what they are doing in all aspects of the game. The only time there should be any complaining is when the actions of others are directly affecting their gaming experience, which is not as often as the number of complaints posted on these forums. As others have said, if you don’t like it, do one of the 10 other dungeons…..

The issue isn’t that it’s so easy, it’s that it’s so fast and easy at the same time that there’s no better way to get gold.
Do you guys remember the effigy before it got nerfed? When crystals were much more important and the final boss wasn’t a pillowfight because of the DPS it caused? Bring back the pre-nerf effigy and the problem will disappear
Main problem with cof 1 is just that it’s too short because you need to kill literally 1 champion and one boss, 2 silver mobs and couple of normal mobs (acolytes).
Probably making bridge event mandatory would help a lot (because now nobody do it). Gate event imo has balance issue. It was made for normal party but for warriors and thieves with good setup it’s just too easy to burst it down in couple of seconds. This make all this “survive” part just a joke.
It all depends what anet think about dungeons and whats should be the clear time for them. First champion in p1 could be made harder. Maybe give him quickness at start, to counter those push on wall and burst down tactic. Gate event should be imo redesigned, for now its too simple when we have gate specialist and quite hard when some other classes are trying to do it. Maybe they should change it to some “hack” event focused on survival not on gate burst.

If 90% of the dungeon running players want to run once specific path of one specific dungeon, it’s not always about what you personally want to do. Either you run it too, or you are forced to potentially spend hours scratching together a party to do something else.

gw2lfg is full of ‘LF 4 ZERK WARRS’. Clearly the reward you gain for running this dungeon day and night is completely unfair on those who just like to play the game. I’m probably hundreds of gold behind these people because they grind it infinitely like machines.

I really don’t think P4 Arah is that hard at all, save for Simin/priestess of dwayna, which require good coordination. Were it not for her, I’d rate it as easy if not more so than Arah P3 whish is the favourite arah farming path.
On the OP however, perhaps CoF 1 does need tweaking to make it harder. I certainly hope that won’t happen or at least not for a long time. Just because I’d rather not see “elites” invading other, more (personally) preferable, dungeons :P

Who cares how much gold you or anyone else has? Just enjoy playing the game. If someone wants to waste hours and hours doing the same thing over and over like a machine, that is their loss by not enjoying the rest of what the game has to offer.
If your spending hours to form a party for any dungeon, must be something wrong like saying level 50 lfg Arah. Or making the mistake of putting a GW2Lfg.com ad saying “LFG Dungeon” Vs just inviting the people already forming.
TBH rather than buff/nerf paths. I would much prefer looking at the paths, the average time to complete, number of deaths etc, and then a rebalance of rewards. The issue is not P4 Arah being long or hard, but the fact the rewards are no better than a path that takes a 1/3 of the time. Same with Path 3 CoF. Up the tokens to 100, add a bit better loot on the later bosses, final chest.
If the rewards matched the difficulty, time invested, I don’t think some paths being easier would be an issue.
If what you care about in this game is making gold and buying nice stuff, suck it up and farm cof or orr. If you don’t care about gold but instead just want to have fun, do what you enjoy and the people who are off making money will be having less fun and won’t be bothering you. I’m not sure why it would be anyone’s prerogative to ruin someone else’s experience of the game because they are spending their time making money rather than doing something more enjoyable. It’s not like if you walk into cof path 1 you are just showered with gold and legendarys. It takes hours and hours and hours, day after day after day to grind up enough money to buy something nice. Just because it isn’t incredibly challenging doesn’t mean it isn’t hard work. If you want the nice stuff then either put in the work for it, or stop complaining that other people are.
As other people have said its not like people are getting something special because they choose to do CoF 1. The fact is that their will always be something in the game that is the most profitable. And as such people with the time will do this one thing as much as they can. I believe it is rather ludicrous to say that it is not fair that they are spending hours doing something and are rewarded more then you who only plays causally. Lastly its just a game play it for fun. Yes FUN you can still do this. If someone wants to make money as fast as they can (as their form of fun) then it will be impossible for a casual to match them get over, it i did a long time ago. I run CoF a few times but i just started recently so i would say i am more of a causal player.

If you want it to be hard because you want a challenge, go do other dungeons and paths, or do it without running pass the bridge or using other common tactics.
If you want it to be hard because you don’t like people that farm it... Well whats the problem? I think its lame too, but let them do it, it doesnt change how you play.

The difficulty isn’t want bothers me, its that it can be farmed over and over so easily and dumps a ton of gold into the game which isn’t healthy.
In my opinion they should increase diminishing returns rather than making the dungeon itself harder. Make it so bag and pure coin drops from the bosses, as well as the coin reward for finishing the dungeon, takes hits the more you complete (or continually fail to prevent people from going through, getting the drops, this quitting at the end) it in a set time period. This should probably be done for all dungeons to prevent people from just moving to another like HotW.
