Is the gold fractal chest you buy from Bling-9009Ascended or Exotic? The vendor says ascended but the wiki says exotic. I have been fooled by thing’s like this from anet before.

If it’s the same box that you get from completing the Fractal Master ach(I think it is), in that case the box is indeed colored pink like ascended stuff but the weapons it contain are your plain old exotics, esceedingly ugly exotics at that.

I have a feeling that is correct. I will wait for confirmation though.

The exotic chest gives you a random weapon. The ascended chest lets you choose which weapon. The weapons from either chest are always exotic quality.

So if you collect 10 golden fractal relents and dump 100 ectos into the conversion recipe you still only get an exotic?

The 10 fractal relic chest is pretty much the anti-rng option to complete the collection (which does award an ascended),

It only costs that much if you want a specific weapon. The random recipe only costs 4 relics, and a small amount of orichalcum, dust and matrices.

I hope Anet adds platinum fractal skins next
