Babysitting NPCs
I ended up babysitting a Quaggan Refuge over in the waters of Orr.
I saved him from Spirit Wurms, Risen Krait, Sharks, and Jellyfish.
I watched as we arrived late to save another of his fellow refugees at times, saved others and lost them on the way in another fight.
I felt satisfaction as I we finally arrived safely at a shelter, and he swam inside the building and meeting up with other Quaggan Refugees.
And no. It wasn’t an event. I was just bored, and curious.

Magg can get a little bit annoying/buggy at times. Especially clearing the flames with the freeze gun bit.
Not really. If you do the exact method, it works every time. If he is “messing up” its actually a personal player problem. Ask for tips on how to do it if you dont know as there is more than 1 way. There are wrong ways too however.
Annoying, ofc hes Magg thats how he gets down.
Magg may be predictable, but he has some strange behaviour — e.g. suddenly reappearing on the far side of the lava with you, despite the fact that he was downed only a second before.

There are certain causes and effects which make this occur and if you know them, he will always do the same thing. Yes its strange, but you can control it or stop it as long as you do the right things in the instance.
Some of them are hilarious. Logan brings about as much usefulness in a fight as a dead armadillo would. In Arah in that hallway just before Lupicus, the NPC there once just up and shot a mob that we were skipping by. For no definable reason. We always skip those mobs the same way, and she’s only done that once. It was pretty funny. They don’t really ever annoy me, though. Mostly just kitten AI.

it is not about playing like the npc is programed. problem is there is always gonna be a safe method that you can use so npc doesn’t bug, but what if i wanna do something differently? npc will just never be smart enough to adapt so he will probably bug out.
no more npc’s in dungeons pls.
btw, players could do all the things npc’s do and would be much more interesting. defending party member while he is placing a bomb from assassing is much more risky then defending npc. oh, look, magg died. nvm, lets try that again:P

He can be a pita. Easiest way I’ve learned is to have the rest of the group waypoint to away, leaving magg with me. I’ll grab the fire extinguisher and just gun for it while putting fires out until I get to the other side. Most of the time he’ll follow over or pop up to me and we’ll complete it. Intended way of doing it? Probably not, but it gets the job done.
