Been unable to progress in FotM for 4 days
What tier fractals are you running?
What tier fractals are you running?
I have 2 characters, 1 is on 26, the other on 28.
Ah, that’s a shame, I would have totally ran with you, unfortunately I’m only on 18..I run with 3-4 different groups of people depending when they are on. What works best for me is when successfully completing that dungeon if I am happy with how the run went I ask them if they would like to run again some other time, and now I have built up a dedicated friends list that have people around my fractals level. Hope that helps!

Well, that’s what I used to do with the old dungeon system. It was great because it made it easy to get a good group back together. But now there’s no point. I have some dungeon friends, and some are way lower than me. Some don’t even bother with the dungeon. And then there’s the few elites that are at higher levels than me.
I’ve had people I played Fractals with before PM me to join their party. But then they’re either progressed beyond my current level, or still stuck at lower levels.
you think you have it bad, try being on level 1/2.
Your problem sounds like that you don’t find the dungeon fun, why not do something else and let people catch up? If you like the dungeon, run it at lower difficulties to help them catching up.
I never spend more then a few minutes to find a fractal group, the trick is to ask for a range of levels, try “looking for fractal between 10 and 20” and you get a group in no time.

You need a guild that likes progressing through fractals. You’re slightly ahead of the curve when it comes to pugging and it is widely believed that doing anything past 20 is a waste of time because the drops don’t account for the extra time invested. Just finding people willing to pug anything 21+ is hard because people don’t want to chance a terrible group.

Hey I spent some time looking for this but i found it!..this was taken from the recent AMA by Chris Whiteside
Q: “Could you address the fractal lvling system? I have made my peace with ascended gear and only want to run fractals of the mists because it is so fun. But it is becoming harder and harder to find low level groups. I love fotm but soon i wont be able to run it at all due to lack of players. I just want to run the dungeon and have it get harder each time i do it. But i dont want to have to keep up with everyones fractal levels.
Thanks!”
A: “Yep there is no doubt that the fractal level system is causing fragmentation. We are currently looking at solutions, one of which is to set the levels into tiers whereby all those within that tier say 1-5 can participate. This has implications on reward and difficulty which is why we are still looking into it.

I believe this tier system would take the average of all 5 party members and then designate that number as the “level” which would generate the loot tables, difficulty etc.

It could also be due to the fact that because drop rates beyond 20 don’t seem to improve by any real measure relative to the challenge… so the majority of people around these levels are just doing the daily lvl 20 for some loots and a shot at some infused ring drops.

^agree with this 100%, I only intend to hit 20 and repeat tiers 10 and 20 only for the reward chest.
After fotm lvl21 it’s hard to find a team. Just need more time or try to creat one yourself. My ele is at lvl 25 and I know your pain. It usually take 30mins to find a group(even ones are easier). Generally I just reading my facebook and other website when waiting for gw2lfg.
It’s all because the difficulty level setting here make lfg so hard. Is it possible that people from different lvl can run Fotm together and get their own reward? Could just set the difficulty lvl same as the highest member in the team.

This is what it should have been like from the start.
Upper 20s were the hardest things for me to find a group for. Took me all last weekend (Friday-Sunday) to get through them constantly flipping through overflows and posting on gw2lfg.
I can understand the frustration of wanting to progress and being hindered by things outside of your control but the solution I have found is to actually round up a group of people that you feel will consistently want to progress and “train/groom/help” them reach the same level as you are in order for you to all progress at the same time. (Try to pick people with similar play times). I was able to hit lvl 20+ within the first 5 days on my warrior, but of continuously progressing on my own w/o my static group, I instead took the time to play my guardian from lvl 1 up with the people i do trust and here we are now almost lvl 40. Since you seem to have so much free time on your hands, try using that time to create a group solid enough to keep progressing instead of just trying to grab pugs whenever you can for the sole purpose of your own progression.
