Benchmarking youreslf in dungeon
Casuals hate DPS meters
If they did this, casuals would complain about how they aren’t doing as much damage as I do.

I wear casual clothes when I play Gw2 so I don’t feel such like a lifeless kitten xD

The maw fractal is kind of a benchmark of how bad your pug is. Go solo a tentacle on your own while they focus the same one and look at how fast you take yours down. If you’re really unlucky you will kill yours before they’re finished with their own.
Well, equal power base is all right. It is good. but we can still tweak the runes, rotation, gear and weapons. If everyone is wearing the exact gear. Its all right too. Then it will be based on skill. I don’t think under geared folks would be negative but rather they would seek advise. As everyone knows the GW2 community is a great one =)
Actually an interesting benchmark would be something of the sort:
At the end of the dungeon some stats are produced:
-total damage dealt by the group
-total downs in the group
-total rezzes in the group
-total seconds of weakness applied
-total attacks blinded
-etc (many statistics representing all outputs inputs possible)
And then each player would get a personal debriefing telling them what percent of these totals they have produced.
You could even have a group average for each statistics so you can benchmark your group against the average group.
This way everyone knows what they have done personally, the group as a whole knows what they have done as a whole, and players afraid of performance checks won’t be threatened with public exposure.

Well if an average pug group takes down Lupicus in 5-10 minutes versus someone soloing Lupicus in 5-10 minutes…
Most minmaxers probably do 2x-5x as much DPS as your average pugger.
