I’m pretty much new to dungeons. I think I’ve run CM and CoE in story mode, and AC as the only Explorable one that I’ve completed.
I am wanting to run TA, but really don’t know where to start beyond the guides I’ve watched on youtube.
I have 4 choices for characters to run the dungeon with, hopefully in a manner that is reliable so I can be an asset to whatever party I’m with. I’m looking to run it several times as I need the blossoms for a legendary.

My level 80 characters listed are with the weapons I am most familiar with. I’d like to avoid complete changes if at all possible.

-Warrior with GS/hammer and rifle in bag. Knights armor, rage runes, and ruby trinkets
- Ranger with LB/BS and SB in bag. pow/pre/con-dmg with Ranger runes and Beryl trinkets
- Thief with SB/sword-pistol and 2nd pistol in bag. Pow/Pre/crit-dmg, afflicted runes and ruby trinkets
- Necro staff/scepter-dagger. pow/pre/crit-dmg with Undead runes and topaz trinkets

I’m open to advice on improving them, but to start I’d like to know which would best suit the dungeon with their current gear.

Where are my gem sales? I want gem sales! Nerf EVERYTHING!

Need more info, but I’ll sum up; you’d want to pick your character that can deal with conditions the most effectively and good direct damage would be more important though you cannot crit the tree boss. Just make sure your wep set up includes a ranged weapon equipped at all times until you know the terrain well enough to alternate.

If you haven’t done it yet i would say watch some youtube vids on how players deal with the Nightmare Vines battle as you will be fighting them regardless of which path you take. That way you’ll have an idea on what to expect as this part does take some coordination.

Knowing when to run or skip will also significantly reduce the time you spend in the dungeon if that’s something you’re interested in

I started running TA with my necro (dagger/dagger + staff) before I had my guardian at 80, easy to wipe quickly at first but after practice, learning the encounters and like the last poster said, when to run/skip, the dungeon isn’t too hard at all. I’d recommend starting with up path first, I find that the least troublesome..

Some encounters on the up path, ranged is better until you’re more confident.. eg Malrona, and the tree boss if your party insists on sitting on the cliffside, but your highest dps output melee setup, stacking + condition removal is generally the best bet.
Good luck!

From my experience SR on a thief is really great for pugs, since some of the trash runs can be a little tricky and black powder is great for trash. Warrior is always a solid choice for any dungeon, and unless your building for condis or shout healing you’ll ne just fine. Ranger is good depending on your traits, and I’d recomend a s/w. On necro I’d really recomend taking a main hand dagger – right now you have a condi heavy weapon and a utility weapon, and although dagger doesn’t cleave it does decent direct damage. But basically, TA is not a tough dungeon (with the xception of the final boss on f/u, for me anyway) so any of those characters you listed would do just fine. If you’ve done CoE and CM I can’t imagine there’s anything that will really phase you, just remember as others have said – bring condi clear.

Slap Healing Signet on your Warrior and you needn’t worry about accidentally giving yourself 30 seconds of poison. That coupled with Knights armour and you’ve got a pretty forgiving build right there, and the damage wouldn’t be too shabby either. Having a ranged weapon on hand is very handy for your first few goes at Malrona, Leurent w/ adds, the Warders, and the Nightmare Trees (not forward/up.) Everything else can be melee’d with ease, and it’s actually preferred for the Vines so you can kill them before being overwhelmed by AoE’s.
Granted running your current setup is so far from optimal it isn’t funny, but it’ll get the job done, which is all that really matters when you’re new to a dungeon.
