The implication is that you can SEE the red circles while you are behind him and I’m glad that he finally realized it. Either way I too am glad that he can finally melee such a simple boss.

When he summons spirits, Retaliation one comes last. So he won’t spawn it as long as one spirit is alive.
Sometimes I had to go and hunt that Storm Spirit. That didn’t happen on video though.
