Guild Wars 2

A few guild members and I were running fractals and we beat the regular 3 and got a bonus fractal. It was killing the Jade Maw, we were having some trouble and didnt know what to do. So we died a few times, but once we got the strategy down we were doing okay.

So what happened was that we got its health down really low and it did its big blast attack that killed all of us ( we had no idea it would be coming) and when we went back to the checkpoint the entire boss fight reset!

All of our gear was messed up so we just decided to end it. Which sucked because we were so close to finishing it. So my question is if the entire fight resetting is something that usually happens? Because if it is then that really sucks.

No I don’t believe I have ever seen jade maw reset. The trick at the end is to make sure you all have a crystal and stand still, don’t be discouraged!

It was very discouraging. But we are not giving up. We raged so hard when the entire fight reset. There was nothing that we could have done. All of our armor was gone!

Lot’s of people carry 2 sets of armor when running fractals, well used to, some would carry 3, and if you don’t know a fight just check wiki or youtube it.

thats a good idea! and we figured it out eventually. The only problem i has was the reset.

you can also log out and log back in to go to Lion’s Arch and repair. Even the person who started the fractal can do this and you won’t lose your spot as long as the person who started instance DOES NOT switch characters or log out completely. Also I think at least one person has to stay in at all times but if you keep to those two things you can repair your armor any time in a FOTM.

At least when the fractals came out wiping at the maw’s death attack would cause the fight to reset every time so it is probably working as intended. I haven’t experienced a wipe on that part after the first days of fractals but I would imagine it hasn’t been changed.

Wiping at any other part of the final fight won’t reset your progress though, except agony will be reapplied if you die during it but that will only matter starting from level 10.
