Booted by party at dungeon end. No rewards.
I block all rude people.
Whenever I see a thread that says that mentions someone being booted, it always paints them in a good light, and they are always booted for an unfair reason. What is coming to the world these days?
no, you really don’t understand. I regret not taking screenshots of the chat log, but I was not in the wrong here. I didn’t think I would be booted or else I would have. I even have the names of the players but I am not going to disclose them on here. I just want to know how, if at all, I can receive my rewards and move on.
It sounded like they wanted to skip ahead, and you wanted to stay and fight mobs.
While I find it disgusting that people would boot others just because they are new and inexperienced, I can’t really say you are completely innocent on this matter either. Most players are not new, I can venture to say most players do not enjoy dawdling in dungeons they’ve done hundreds of times.
If you cross the bridge when you come to it, people might feel very justified to not have you cross the bridge with them. I believe in the future you should make your expectations (first time, want to watch cutscenes, don’t want to skip) clear at the start of the dungeon to avoid this kind of things in the future. If your party doesn’t agree, start a new one.

as I understand 3 out of 5 players were all fine with clearing mobs and those 2 skipping were the minority. I would say that everyone should make their intentions clear while still looking for group “LFG dungeon name exp normal run path name”, “LFG dungeon name exp speed run path name”, “LFG dungeon name exp farm path name”.
Now to the OP – do what I do, before running add everyone you don’t know to friends. If something like this happens block and report people that did it. I’m mostly am unhappy with the kick system – plenty of people were kicked by 2 friends for no good reason, just so they wouldn’t get dungeon/ fractal rewards after the last boss. It should require 3 people to kick.
Give the small size of parties, it should require every one of the other 4 ppl to vote against the “kickee”
Yeah the system is messed up, what I do is form my group with a buddy of mine and enter the dungeon first then invite people, this way if someone tries to pull kitten like this and boots me then the party disbands and no one gets nothing, if they boot my friend then I’ll argue with them and leave the party then it gets disbanded again.
Fortunately this usually doesn’t happen, I guess cause people figure out that one of us is the instance owner.

They have chat logs, just report their names, the hour you do the dungeon and some information about what happened.
If more people report this FOR ANET not for the forum, everyone will have a better gaming experience.

Only problem is that team chat disappears once you leave the team, no matter what the reason. Typically, people don’t have real reason to save the chat logs until after they are booted and can no longer see them.

Anet has access to this, trust me.

Let me give you the details. We were running path 2 of CoF. The two friends did not want to assist in helping the NPC find the metal across the lava using the water gun. They just WP and expected us to do it. They also did no help kite the mobs around while the NPC opened the door, which made it 10x harder for us three. Of course the one just pulled the boss while the four of us killed the acolytes to attack the crystal. As soon as the boss died, I was booted and didn’t get any rewards. I have ran the dungeon many times. We even ran path one together, skipped the bridge, etc. I wasn’t fighting mobs while they waited ahead. They just didn’t want to help anywhere. And I got punished for finishing the dungeon for them. Not fair at all.

Suppose you have 2 people in your group being jerks (the case that is being singled out for abuse prompting this policy change). You now can’t kick either because the other will veto it.
The problem is not solved, you just replaced it with an even worse problem.

The only decent improvement I can see is to increase minimal number of votes from 2 to 3. Other than that I can’t really see how that could be improved. Supposedly, you run with 4 people from same guild. How would you design a system that would allow them to kick you for playing badly and not for trolling/griefing during last boss’s fight?
…block all rude people.
^^ this is best advice.
I’ve grouped with some tremendous players that I really enjoyed doing dungeons with. But I’ve run 200+ dungeons and my overall experience has been that the dungeon community is pretty rude. I was in a group one time for AC and 2 people in the group heckled this one poor player who was obviously inexperienced. They kept at it until that player left. They they act shocked that he quit the group. For some reason I typed in “well what did you expect after you were riding him the whole time”. There responce was it was that players fault for being such a noob.
Its such a shame but I see this all the time in GW2 and my block list is pretty large. Only other advice I can offer is dont waste your time getting upset by it. Move on as quickly as you can to the next group. There are good groups and bad ones. Its the risk you take when you PUG.

Thanks, I think this post helped the most. I guess I was just extremely frustrated that I put in all that time just for the two of them to boot me right when I was about to get rewards. The other two party members liked me and agreed the other player needed to cool it. But I was outnumbered and the best I can do is move on. Hopefully they improve the system so newer players are given the same opportunities and have as much fun doing dungeons as anyone else.
this is why i avoid grouping with random people as much as possible=(

does it matter? you shouldnt be able to kick anyone unless at LEAST the majority wants it…
as it is now people can join in 2 people and kick the rest of the party -.- the only way to “kinda” prevent this form of misuse is to be the one that opened the instance so you know IF they misuse it and kicks you they will get booted out as well..
i never tried this myself on either sides but people that does this should just get banned in my eyes. (the ability to do it shouldnt be there in the first place though)
@Erebus
Anet, does not ban on first time ocurrences, and some griefing is not as hacking or exploiting a game, so will take more than one, two or three ocurrences to get a real ban.
But those people are jerks, they will repeat this stupidity more and more, so the more people report this TO ANET and have some way to TEACH people to do that and how it works, more easily this people will get a serious ban and will ragequit or will be more pleasant people.
But most of this problem is: people don´t report because they simply don´t know how or just be so ashamed that they don´t want to report and vent their frustration in other people.

unless you know to take precautions before entering the dungeon (add all of the party to your friends) you won’t be able to report, due to the party chat disappearing. All you could report then is the incident itself but not the people that did it.
I dont mind helping a newer player in a dungeon, but I do get kitten when they dawdle. If you’re new, dont argue with experienced players.
If you’re just slow, then find a group of 5 players who dont mind clearing all the trash, etc. Most dungeoneers want a smooth and quick run to get thier tokens, hence why most trash is skipped, and certain events are exploited(like taking Magg across the lava, it should really only be done by 1 person, dont even need the gun).
Either way, the players who kicked you were in the wrong, and I hope justice finds them.

If you know the time you done the dungeon, the name of the dungeon and at least one name (not necessary to be in your friends list) ANET can check the chat log IN THEIR DATABASE not in your screen…
