Most of the bosses in GW2 dungeons (and open world PvE) have some kind of tell for their big nasty attack which will usually wreck you, if not OHKO you. Sometimes they raise a sword, sometimes they haunch back before a screach, sometimes they have a specific pose they do, whatever the tell is, it’s usually a trigger for people in the know to take evasive action. Sometimes this means running behind a wall, sometimes it’s just a couple dodge rolls for immunity, sometimes you need to move behind the boss. Once you’ve learned the boss tell and become proficient at the counter, the boss changes from being an impossibly frustrating experience to a skill rewarding experience… that is until the particle effects and UI get in the way.

Guardian fire, burning fire, critical text, damage text, mesmer particles – all kinds of effects and UI taking up space on the screen preventing me from seeing the boss clearly. Is he raising his sword? I don’t know because he’s a big ball of blue flames, am I about to be smashed by his screech? I can’t tell because the damage numbers keep blocking my view of his animations.

Several particle effects and UI issues are preventing me from clearly seeing the actions of some bosses. Sometimes I am unable to judge if I should dodge/take evasive action because the particle effects and UI are obscuring my view.
