Bring Back Dungeons.
dungeons dont make little gold though. its still a good source of income

I think perhaps that they don’t want a majority of the playerbase spending the majority of their time in instanced content.
I think that they want to make sure that the majority stays in open world.

That’s more an issue with scale 40 than dungeon rewards.
They could just as easily change how the scale 40 farm works and we’d not be saying this anymore. Frankly, I hope they do change it to an event chest that’s once a day to remove this non-sense.

Yea make fractals once a day chest like dungeons. Would get rid of the boring 40 farm.

Have you played hot open world at all?
Sure world bosses in core have a daily rare chest each but the hot metas you can do as many times as they are up.

The world bosses you can do more times aswell if you play more then 1 character you just miss out on rare bonus chest + the exotic map chest from Teq and Wurm.
What is so different between fractals and dungeons anyway ? I will tell you one difference: dungeons are a boring instanced content to run because you can abuse the different mechanics of how they were designed to completely trivialize the content. I had to go back in ascalon catacombs for a legendary and frankly it felt painful to run. Though I will say this: in order to gain enough tokens, I was able to run story mode of other dungeons and I actually had more fun runinng the story modes than the three paths of Ascalon.
Both have their charms i just dont agree that for anet focushing 1 means practically deleting the other and for who ever says “they didnt kill them they just reduced the gold” tell that to empty lfg’s and all the ppl who quit because their favourite thing gives practically nothing

Well no mate they nerfed dungeons, people got upset.
Then they buffed tokens instead of 60 a day each path you get 100.
Then for every 8 diffrent path 5 gold and 150 tokens of your choice that you can do how ever many times you like.
So first run ac all 3 paths cof 2 paths and lets say coe all 3 paths 800 tokens(150) 5gold + trash and the coin from each path.
Second run 5 gold but 160 tokens(150).
When I first started I thought you could do each path only once a day but it reset every time.

Adding in how trivial they done dungeon with the hot power creep you actualy make more coin now then before. ( Well unless you sold path that people used to do that was more profitable but made useless with the 150 free what ever tokens chest you can get unlimited numbers a day.)

You do not make a much gold as you used to and imo i wouldnt hurt no one if that 5 gold for 8 paths was made into 10 gold. The opposide actually it would make alot of ppl happy.
Dungeons haven’t gone anywhere. The rewards were OP’d for a long time and we got used to the easy loot. In addition, many veterans burnt out repeating them over & over again. They are perfectly fine for people learning builds, attempting solo/duo for the first time, and something less challenging for 5-person groups. The rewards are pretty good, even if they aren’t farm-worthy any longer.
So instead of hyperbole, stick with the simple request you have above: “increase the reward for Dungeon Frequenter from 5 to 10 gold”. I suspect that would be an easier “sell” than the vague “bring back dungeons”.
I think dungeons are rewarding right now. The problem is the community that ran them is gone, many left the game following hot (nerf dungeons, swamp of the mists, and no raids for months). If you have 4 skilled friends, I’m sure daily tours would be decent cash, because you could go fast. Dungeons give a lot of leather for example.
Power creep may have made dps higher, but all other performance is terrible now. Thieves can’t stealth, warriors don’t give swiftness, almost no one uses movement skills. Blinds are really non-existent, etc.
Go run ac (with a low dps group), wait for kholer to spin. Watch how many people go down. Its disappointing.
Dungeons do require a reward overhaul at this point. The gold gain is fine if you run with competent players, even great if you run with good players and also own some of the trinket receipes. However, that isn’t enough to drawn in anyone apart from the occasional veteran player.
Adding some ascended gear to the rewards would do a lot to breathe new life into dungeons. This would provide newbies with a stepping stone to get geared and to get used to game mechanics and builds. It would prepare them for Fractals and even raids to some degree at least.
Honestly, they can leave dungeons the way they are at this point. Most of us already moved on long ago. But the current state of dungeons feels like such a waste if you consider the countless of hours of work that went into them and all of that wasted potential.

I mean the only think they did to throw dungeons off popularity was the rewards nerf and i believe 10g per 8 path is fair no? Esp since starting on fractals can b quite costly to get asc and crafting to 500 i believe if this is supposed to be the first place that change is justified
dungeons are rewarding enough. you get stable gold per path, stable gold per 8 paths, a lot of materials for salvaging and a lot of champion bags. on top of that you get tokens which you can turn into ectos, insignias or if you were lucky and got a recipe you can craft accessories which sell for 1.5-8g on TP (200 tokens per item). also Aetherpath drops exo skin daily which makes 2-10g
the ONLY reason why people are not playing dungeons is because of shifted mentality of the playerbase which follows gossip and not the truth

This happened again when they overnerfed the pvp rewards and everyone left instead of killing communities and things players loved make them more apealing and reasonable. And 10 gold per 8 paths IS reasonable. Also you dont get reasonable gold per path you get reasonable gold per path once. Im not saying remove the diminishing returns but buffing the daily dungeons runners would be great

Yes you get decent enough gold per path once, its the same with fractals you get decent once so its in line with other content.

The lower level mats some coin and 5 gold +150 tokens is a good reward for dungeons.
there are 32 paths including the 7 story paths so thats 4 times running all paths and getting max gold for each path.
Sounds like you just want to do the 8 quick ones and get 10 golds easy how ever many times a day you do it.
Good news you can already do it for half the reward.

Well with all the bugs that can happen in some paths Im quite sure anet dont want more people to do them.
im sure they will manage as they did for 4 years :/ still with all the bugs just overnerfing it (in alot of ppl’s opinion) wasnt the right thing. I mean its not L I T E R A L L Y U N P L A Y A B L E just abit buggy

Have you tried running dungeons recently?
I been doing full runs of ac, cm, ta, cof, coe and hotw as late as monday this week.
No problem filling said parties.
lol it IS literally unplayable. there are bugs which completely block the entire instance. they mainly involve bad NPC scripts involving their deaths or position.
examples:
(common) se p2 after killing taskmaster – npc not triggering the glowing rock event
(rare to common) ac p2 – detha wont trigger the event to deploy traps
(very frequent) arah p2 – belka wont turn hostile
(rare) arah p3 – npc will not trigger the cleansing ritual
(rare to common) ac p2 – detha wont trigger the event to deploy traps
It’s not rare to common if you 1. don’t fail the event “Room of Pits” southeast before heading to the boss room, 2. wait to enter into the room before Detha has said her sentence and 3. don’t die on the skip/don’t skip from Foefire’s Heart waypoint to the Hall of Champions.
If you follow these 3 steps 100% correctly, Detha definitely won’t bug.
It also doesn’t fail if you magically run all 3 parts together. I heard that’s possible and I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.
i know how to avoid detha bugging and other shenanigans but thats not the point, dungeons are bugged af and it’s not just clunkiness but the whole instance gets blocked
Do we actually settle for a bunch of small band-aids at this point? Seems to me that anything outside of a full rehabilitation might be a complete waste of time.
All though, there is an expansion on the horizon. You never know. People bring up whatever ArenaNet said in the past. They also said we’ll never get raids and see how that turned out in the end.
