So, short answer: no
long answer: “what’s a dungeon lol”
hard enough to make them cry, not just rivers but oceans."
It doesn’t sound like he plays the game at all.
Wow that part from 16:00 onward about “WE don’t want to get a really splintered community” made me flinch…
I’m not sure I understand the answer. He says that they want to make dungeons vary in difficulty, so that it’s generally understood that some are for the hardcore players and some are not. But how does that not equally splinter the community into, say, the people who do fractals and the people who don’t? (Of course, the people who do fractals might also do other things, but the people who did hard mode in GW also did other things.)
best statistical loot in the game. We want everyone on an equal power base.”
Pre-launch, Colin listed things that make MMOs bad. They are all now in GW2.
……………../sigh.

because the “non-hardcore” players will walk into higher difficulty dungeons and QQ and they will nerf everything back to ground again
Harder paths, uh? Oh, I can almost see it. 5 legendary mobs with 10 millions hp each…
Fractals splinters people based on how much AR you have….
SAB has 3 modes. Dunno if that’s totally analogous but I don’t buy into the argument that providing a “super hard mode” would fracture the community that much. If anything we could use some separation. Right now we have clerics gear staff guardians running with zerker speed runners, because practically speaking there is one difficulty level – and both sides end up frustrated.
I suspect the real answer is they don’t have the man power to develop hard modes for the dungeons since the living story cannibalized the dungeon team. They’d rather spend their time making solo challenges for their massively multiplayer online game instead of developing group content. ie, guantlet, and SAB (“I imagine most Tribulation Mode play will happen solo.” – Josh Foreman) But that’s nothing we didn’t know already I guess.
LOL did he just say fractals is rewarding?
“We aren’t looking at making a hard mode, just at making some dungeon paths harder.”
How is that less bad? You want to make some paths so ONLY hardcore players can do them instead of making everything available in some form to everyone?
Why does he think it’s so hard for a guild to get together and do something? He must not know about gw2lfg if he thinks it’s already too hard to get a 5man together… GUILD Wars 2, where you can only run with your guild is wvw… at least until the fight becomes “Mash 1 and target closest”
