God, I hope they nerf CoF. Maybe then people would be more willing to do other dungeons.
I think I remember someone saying almost this exact same thing a while back but, it was about the 600/ smite and Shadow Form nerf in GW1 in an effort to stop speed clears and the comment was more specifically about the Cathedral of Flame dungeon.
Post nerf; People just didn’t do Cathedral of Flame and other dungeons that couldn’t be speed cleared. Ah, history will repeat itself.
But every dungeon was able to be speed cleared, some were just more pug friendly than others.

Well it does matter, because in GW1 all paths could be speed cleared, it was just that some were more rewarding than others. SoOSC was so popular because a BDS was worth a fair sum of money and it was easy to do. I feel like your understanding of what happened in GW1 related to speed clears is a little hazy. Slavers was more profitable to farm, however it was a little bit more difficult, so pugs didnt do it; guilds farmed it all the time though.
If Cof p1 gets nerfed, my assumption is that people will move on to the next big next alternative to make money. I’m pretty sure ANet said some months back that they were going to work on the loot and rewards in dungeons, so perhaps peoples incentive to do various dungeons will increase.
The key thing here is that people will do something if its rewarding. The easier the better. Cof p1 just so happens to be the easiest and perhaps the fastest, SoO was that dungeon in GW1. Your comment about ‘history repeating itself’ doesn’t really make sense either, considering that people already only do the dungeons that can be speed cleared.
i say farm as much as you can before they change it. from what they did to ac.

Is there any revamp planned on this dung? A lot of ppl doing speed runs to get money, lodestones, items and tokens. Its a lot of money if a lot of ppl do this…

That’s a totally illogical mindset.
Those people will always look for the optimized runs/farms and will simply move to the next fastest run and you’ll be back here again in a couple of months complaining again.
Nerfing and making instances more difficult or tedious to be inline with others is a slippery slope and just makes the game less fun and kills the community.
I am one in hopes that this does not get changed..
Since I recently came back to the game, the prices of everything have jumped up and I am not a big fan of any other content other than dungeons. So if I can make money and do dungeons: I am a happy guy. For me, CoF is a nice daily thing I can count on to get a little bit more cash so I am not so broke. I think the highest I have gotten is 9g before, which is very sad, specially with the price increase, but this is due to constantly having to buy things, so for me CoF is nearly a necessary thing to keep my gold from being 0.

Why would you care?
You will see when you will make your legendary, u will care. A legendary requieres the MINIMAL ammount of 500-600G depending on wepaon + precursor, so you can easly get to 1000G for a legendary, gl doing it without farming, could take ages.

That is the issue though. This dungeon being so fast and easy causes inflation. It makes so that if you arn’t doing CoF path 1 over and over again you fall behind everyone else.
Basically every run injects at least 46 silver into the games economy per player.
Not to sound mean but I don’t understand how someone can like dungeons then run the same one over and over again in the exact same setup. That isnt dungeon running to me that is just farming which i find boring. There is no challenge or sense of adventure in CoF path 1 over and over again.
The reason I want to see this nerfed is so that I don’t get scoffed at when I ask my team if they want to run something else. I can’t blame them for only running CoF since its basically the same reward as every other dungeon but with a quarter of the effort and none of the risk. I realize that farmers will go to the “next” fastest thing but if all the dungeons are closer to time/reward then more normal people wont feel like they have to do cof to stay caught up. If the fastest dungeon could be done in say 15 minutes then that makes running HotW or CoE for money actually a consideration.

I can understand that to a point. For me, I like dungeons that I can run with friends. So I suppose in a way it is a bit of more like farming on a guided path with friends. As I do not really like the open world content or gathering. What bothers me a bit about CoF 1 being the way it is (which I have come to see) is since I have a thief and guardian…I am unwanted in many runs. Anet tried to make everything so that any group could do any instance, but due to warrior power and mesmer time warp: many CoF runs are being limited to those professions. That to me tells me Anet needs to fix something somewhere.
I wouldn’t mind CoF being a bit longer, I was surprised to find how short it was, maybe another boss after the final boss in there would be interesting. I suppose if they had to change it, I’d rather they make it slightly longer versus upping the difficulty to the point it get’s annoying (which has happened when they changed other instances)
I completely agree with having all the dungeons around the same length of time: that way there are more people willing to go to other dungeons. CoF party is cake to get, CoE..not as easy. So I am fully game for that, though, I do believe there should be a path in each dungeon that -can- be achieved in 30 minutes or so. Not too much longer for the people who aren’t able to sit around all day every day but still want to make some money and or get their gear.
