Just hit level 40 with 2 of my friends we decided to do Caduceus’s Manor and killed first boss, once we killed the 3 minions in the basement we just couldn’t get passed the 10+ guards -.- in a cave.
I know its ment to be 5 manned but still, is it suppose to be this hard ?

Don’t remember this well, but try to either separate them with a skill that pulls (if you have a thief or a necromancer) or try to put them in a tight ball to easily kill them with your AoE.

If you have a guardian/mesmer/elementalist/thief use anti projectiles. If you have a necromancer use well of blindness.

Or find 2 more players.

Brand new level 40s and there’s only 3 of you? Gl with that. Get 2 more people and plan out your attacks. This dungeon is harder than others due to bad placement of mobs and their high hp pools.

watched a couple vids on youtube and i never see their tanks going under 99% health, how is this ? o.O our tank is tanky but i mean he takes damage after awhile

Im guessing that you are talking about story mode…

On my full geared lvl 80 guardian i can face-tank nearly all mobs in story manor, but when i did it back when i was around lvl 40 i took a kitten load of dmg. Ohh and your party spamming blinds, CC, heals and the like also helps.

Well this game isn’t like other MMO’s, if you’ve got someone “tanking” and you’re relying on him not to die then there’s your problem. Treat it more like an action game, as well as rely on strategy like lockdown and deflection and it might work. I did CM about 5 times back in the day because it was by far the easiest Story Mode dungeon.

Also, buy new gear from the TP – and you seem to be implying that you only have 3 people. Dungeons are balanced for 5, you will have a very hard time.

You know…you can bring a ranged weapon…

Time your dodges, blocks, blinds, etc. Learn to change your style on the fly based on aggro and positioning.

And bring a medium-ranged weapon on your off-set.

ok you were right, i did manor twice and AC with 5 people and it really was a big difference and pretty easy, no one died really.

also im wondering if I should simply main a ranged weapon on my warrior ? im using GS and rifle but it seems ranged weapons are better for so many fights, especially in AC

You need to bring most of the weapons you can use depending on the dungeon. I believe that’s the beauty of GW2’s dungeon. Sure, you can always use the same weapon but you’ll have a harder time doing so than switching to the best weapon for the job.
