Ok, we killed the boss as he threw me into an unbreakable cage, making me unable to get the chest. We had no mesmers in the group who could portal me out, leaving me basically trapped unable to get this chest.

Well, anytime I’ve got put in that cage it’s been easy to break just by fighting my way out and walking out of the opening. If you tried attacking it and really couldn’t damage the sides at all, that sounds like a bug.

yes i’ve attacked it and it didn’t break, trust me it’s the first time i couldn’t break a cage when being put in it. It’s a bug most likely.

It happens if you are still in there when the thing finishes. Easiest way to get around it is to have everyone in your group carry a few Telportation Guns.

how do u get a teleportation gun?

buy it in merchant on timberline falls, the Concordia Waypoint the Asura base there.
store some on your characters, it helpful on certain jumps
