So after 3 weeks of timegated research pages and ridiculously easy challenge “mote’s”,
yesterday we found out we could not finish the Legendary backpiece that was advertised in the Heart of thorns expansion.

Instead we hit a brick wall with the note please wait for more content.

For the two gifts needed to craft the final piece Gift of Infinity & Gift of the Fractals
ar not in the game…

All I’ve heard so far are excuses about them not being in the game due to them being tied in with the fractal leader board which will all be “fixed” in some december fractal patch.

Which means for us we have to wait for another 2 weeks of “nontimegated” time for this to sort itself out.

“They will be released by the time people got their third tier backpiece”

Thas a fail. Why the time gated journals IF now we have to wait for god knows how many days untill its there?

Let’s say they assumed we would only get 1 journal side per day (because they failed at calculations or whatever) since this is the only timegated thing I remember.
If they really said that it will be available when the first T3 backpacks are finished, the last plausible date for adding the other 2 gifts would be 19th January 2016.
If they calculated with an average of 2 sides per day, they need to finish it til 9th December…

I have to agree with this estimate.

Very likely arenanet did not expect people to cap fractal mastery by the evening of day 1. Who would have guessed players would mindlessly farm CoF1 for hours on end without loot rewards just to get ahead slightly faster?

With 1-2 weeks of only 1 page per day, people would still need a couple more days until they had reached the cap. If everything goes as planed, my guess is the backpiece will get added with the fractal patch.

Even without CoF farm, the first tier of fractal mastery isn’t exactly difficult to unlock. It would’ve never taken more than 2-3 days for those interested in fractals to get that one.

I would expect the rest of these gifts to appear as obtainable sometime in January, personally. I think the December patch for Fractals was originally intended to have them, but because they had to shift up the rewards and scaling the legendary components are getting pushed back. I do know it’s all being worked, however, and once the fractal leaderboards come out we should be able to finish the legendary.

My assumption at this point is that the leaderboard will work a lot like the adventure leaderboards where your completion time for each fractal will be tracked. Similarly, there will be bronze/silver/gold rewards and we’ll need gold or silver rewards on several of the ‘fractal adventures’ in order to make the remaining two gifts. That’s my gut instinct talking, though, so we’ll see how accurate that ends up being.

I’m super excited to finish it too, though, trust me. o_o

Then Anet should not have let us get 2-3 Pages Aday if they expected us to take months to gather everything the problem we have is that this Legendary backpiece was advertised with the expansion and all we got was a half finished dumbd down Fractals.

They’re still talking about putting in fractal leaderboard? Why…? I never liked that idea.

Back when these things first came out, I thought the idea was to add new fractals frequently… to date we’ve never gotten one other than Thaumanova, which is the worst designed (I don’t count living story rehash as new fractals b/c it’s recycled content). I would think their time would be much better spent adding a new level or two than putting a leaderboard… this is PvE, not PvP, we don’t need a leaderboard.

In any case, slightly off topic, but yes, it’s a little ridiculous for them to not even put the gifts in. Unless they’re tied to something like a system that’s not in game (like leaderboard) there’s no reason for them not to have added a mystic forge item combination in the last two months…

One of the devs recwntly spoke about priorities and he States that the number one is fixing thing that are blocking our progresso towards legendary’ crafting. So i assume the gifys will be released still in december

I thought they said they scrapped the idea of Fractal Leaderboards tying into the Legendary backpiece.

It would make too much sense for them to release that all together. They are too busy making moneymaking items for the gemstore to fix anything or complete things they started. That should have been in the game from day 1 of HoT or they shouldn’t have advertised it. Get it together Anet.

So… fractal “update” came out hope everybody is happy with the fractal achievment fix and nothing ells…

Still waiting on my gifts that were supposed to be in the game a month ago….
