Like seriously. I haven’t done this path in months because this fight is so broken now. It does too much damage and it’s literally impossible to do without wiping.

I agree, I went to pug this path today and there was a zerker elitist who kept insisting we stacked. The spider queen then used her poison and while I was out of the stack ranging with my longbow they all died and I had to carry them. Please ANet, it’s causing the community to become quite toxic when you have these zerkers who can’t break the stacking mentality.

I know. Only people who are fine with her are filthy exploiters.

If you can Simon Says him for 1 minute with dance moves, he’ll give you the Triforce, and then you can defeat Ganon and cleanse the world of evil.

I thought everyone knew this already.

Its actually not broken, and I see it being done all the time, though I do admit, the spider queen is kinda OP for an “introductory” level dungeon.
And lets not point fingers at zerker or pugs…

When i run with my group, we apply the zerker speed tactics.
And when I run with pugs I do it their way which is generally fighting her in the room with everyone all over the place :P

That “zerker” is an idiot thinking that stacking works like before. Stacking now is entering a DPS race with the boss. If the group does not have the DPS, they will die. Even zerker groups ca get screwed if not done right. Now that guy is either disconnected from the reality that they fixed the stacking spot (that caused the spider to not cast her AoE) or well pure idiot :P

Nonetheless, someone showed me a pretty useful tactic that allowed our group to stack her easily, you just have one of the Warriors use ‘Fear me’ as soon as she starts winding up for the first AoE attack. With at least one Ele in an ordinary DPS spec’d group that should be more than enough time to burst her down. Unfortunately I had little success when I tried teaching it to PUGs.

The safe approach takes about a minute more but is almost foolproof. Just take out a few of the gargoyle turrets, kill the spiderlings then have at the queen any which way you choose. Ice bow usually does the trick.

Why would you even want to kill her? Everyone knows doing damage is an exploit; I am almost done my full ascended nomads armor to avoid falling into that zerker, elitist, exploiter mentality.

That’s the tactic me and my buddies use it works as long as people don’t screw it up with CCs on the spider early. And an alternative if no warrior is available is Deep Freeze (Ice Bow 5). Ele just does his might stacking, drops bow behind group someone grabs, drops FGS and then the spider comes in from whoever pulled and we freeze/burn. I almost never play warrior for my groups but as I understand it we prefer that because it doesn’t have the LOS issues that deep freeze does. Again, don’t play warrior much so sorry if that’s wrong.

Stack might, drop fgs and kill her in 2 seconds in same corner as always before she kills u. Or freeze her with icebow or any other long lasting cc for even better results.

Exactly, Troll or not, IMO you can never post good strats too much

I think I 100% agree with the OP. The spider is impossible to defeat. It’s impossible to defeat with horrible PUGs normally, much less trying to stack with equal or better in skill to above-average PUGs. It’s just not possible to CC the spider queen to interrupt her spit attack with trivial ease, nor is it possible to DPS her down fast enough that you wouldn’t all die even if you could CC her. This is despite what those insane elitist Berserker gear players say; not only do they claim to be able to kill her, but they claim to be able to kill Kholer too, so we know they’re just joking. Next someone will say is that the AC (and HotW P1) Troll can actually be defeated, even in melee combat. Soloed, even! How preposterous.

Still super easy. Even if our dungeon group sometimes lacks the DPS to melt her down in a couple of seconds, we just do it the old school way. If you have problems, maybe try to bring more damage, it shouldn’t take longer than 30 s – 1 min, even if you range her.

You know…I know why Anet did this. I know why Anet added the poison thing. People were stacking to such a degree that is actually stopped being meaningful. The problem is all it did was make the boss needlessly more difficult to try and punish the people abusing stacking.
Anet needed to let us, the players, deny using that “stack against the wall” garbage, not punish the people who don’t do that. So yeah, many of her updates need to be nerfed back to their non-existent states.

You know, I know why ANet did this. They were actually pushed by a bunch of phiw that have no clue about game mechanics. The devs didn’t want to give in, but eventually the pressure became too strong and they decided to give the cryhards a bone to chew.

ANet needed to let us, the players who have a strong understanding of game mechanics, know that from time to time they just can’t hep but meet the demands of casuals, while still leaving every elitist do it like before, because WE KNOW.

ANet quite probably intended stacking to be intentional, given they designed their AI that way. If they had designed ranged mobs to not LoS when obstructed, then you may have a point. But they don’t, so you don’t.

The saddest part is that i also get this while running with 3 eles (me being the 3rd) :/
Edit: – LFG “80 exp, SPEED RUN” > does not stack at spider ¬¬

Recent pugs stack for the small spiders and run out to fight queen o.0 even with 2x eles. From a random pug once:

-“I’m so glad they fixed the dumb stacking at queen”.
-“Fighting normal (not stacked) is easier.”
