I find it funny that its significantly faster to range the boss during phase 2 and phase 3. In melee we had to break out and dodge meteor shower or agony blast so often that it disrupted dps way more than just ranging would.

This boss is not worth to melee for the whole party because he’s using meteor shower to deny your position. Agony blast is not that much of a problem.

Could it be possible to bring his defiant down and push/pull him while he is under the meteor shower?

I believe you would have to dedicate the whole party into bringing the stacks down rather than dpsing which would kind of defeat the purpose of doing so.

Having not every party member meleeing him also delays or completely prevents the transition into fgs which i have yet to see a sustained melee tactic against, basically it becomes more of a race like here.

Removing defiance and fractals bosses don’t get well in one sentence.

I think it’s really boring then, because it would bring an interesting mechanic to the fight.
