Is there a known criteria as to when they will “enrage” (Ashym swaps to his greatsword, Mossman turns into an animal)? I know that Ashym will only use his GS after he shouts “I will never surrender!” but even then in most fights he’ll just keep using his staff until he dies. And Mossman seems even more random.

I don’t think DPS is the explanation. I’ve had many groups of varied DPS and there seemed to be no pattern: In a low DPS group, they’d enrage, in another low DPS group, they wouldn’t. Same applied to high DPS groups.

When I soloed Ashym on melee-range he always immediately swapped at 25%. So I would assume there’s something on his AI checking whether target is on melee-range (like when looking for new target or something, just rare enough to allow results we see now).

I think Mossman only turns animal if you reroll Swamp. I have never seen it happen except when I soloed Mossman and had to reroll Swamp because I got Bloomhunger on first try.

Mossman seems to be on a timer but the captain seems to random as kitten

Yes, The captain has 3 phases, his mace/shield, then he switches to staff, and when he switches to staff it’s best to stay at max range cause if you get within a certain range he will pull his Firey Great Sword, it’s a range trigger.

As you can see in my video, he shouts, but doesn’t switch, because there is no player in melee range (aprox 600 range) if you break this line he will switch.

I believe Staff is on a combination of timed and HP % trigger, as I have been in a group where he didn’t even get to use his first agony burst
