Guild Wars 2

Hello, my account name as you all can see is erakus, I am currently in the middle of a statistics course, and for the semester long project, and we were given complete control over the project. So I decided to focus it on the game that I am currently playing for large amounts of time, guild wars 2. The subject, is to figures why people play or don’t play each classes, and to find trends within the information. To collect the information I am seeking, I have created a 5 minute survey that I am hoping you the members of the community will answer. Link Is below. For those curious about the results I will post them after I am done.

Interesting to see that in general (looking at the survey) that Most people are 20 – 29 Males that play / don’t play classes depending on how fun they are to play and/or haven’t tried them =P.

Interesting to see how easy it is to get some data about the playerbase. Too bad ANet can’t be bothered because . . . reasons.

Thought it was interesting, why do people play engi? Fun, why don’t people play engi? haven’t tried.

I hear ya, but that’s why I love my mouse, little squeeze of the mouse and grenades pop out

This survey reminded me that I have an engi that needs leveling. Thanks OP!

This survey was odd for me having all classes at 80 and using most of them in WvW/pvp and only bring them into pve if needed (except mesmer and necro cuz screw that). Don’t get me wrong though I do fractals and dungeons a lot I just only use my ele.

Interesting how many heavies you see around, but it’s those two classes with lowest % as mains.

No surprise here. Mostly men, ages 20sh, and reason to play is fun. :P

Put this in the general and Reddit as well. You will get a lot more accurate representation of the GW2 community than just our dungeon sub.

Surprisingly I realized I only find Mesmer/Warrior/Thief fun o_0.

I am shocked how about always 25% never played a class. For me it is one of the first things: try out all the classes. I remember players who played one single class for thousand of hours – that I don’t get.

I touched necro for 20minutes and realized its just not my class.

I personally don’t count it as trying unless you actually learn the profession.

Necro is perfect for masochists. Also a good pick if you need extra reasons to spew excessive profanity while playing.

Good point. Also, I exaggerated it a bit; I was not shocked, but simply staggered by the fact how many didn’t play a certain class. I played every class at least 100-200 hours though, but then I did the same in GW1.

I created a guard and I tried to equip a dagger and a focus, but I couldn’t.
I created a mesmer and I tried to equip a dagger and a focus, but I couldn’t.
Etc.

Only the ele can play DF, only the ele is godly.
All hail the one class that rules them all, one class to find them, one class to bring them all and in elements bind them.
