Took me a lot to notice but didn anyone notice that this boss actually hits you way before the animation hits?

Both with his projectile agony attack and with his hammer.

Its basically impossible to dodge because you will be hit even before attack starts OFTEN….

And that is what bugs me its not Always so, very often, sometimes you seems to be able to evade his Attacks.

What i don t get is, despite it seems a lag issue (not client side i can assure you of this) it doesn t affect all bosses but this seems to be the most problematic.

People possibly won t complain because if something is doable (see ranged) they simply don t care, but its quite annoying.

GW2 balance:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

The swing where he flings out purple Confusion projectiles (Ring of Warding) has an initial swing damage component and a projectile component, both of which must be avoided if you do not want to take damage. The initial swing component, from what I can tell, is an AoE ranged cone in front of him.

If its a 900 ranged INVISIBLE istant cone in front of him should be fixed……

because Yesterday i was really far and noticed how i got hit.

You actually have no chance to avoiding it if you are in front of him.

GW2 balance:

You still have enough time to react and avoid both hits with one dodge, the damage in later levels is so high it is highly recommended even.

I said i posted this after months because i just wanted to be sure…..and Yesterday was really clear how the projectile (i don t believe there is any invisible attack to tell the truth) hits way before the real collision and the hammer jump too…

Its completely impossible to dodge at mid range distance ….its doable at long range….

Also wich would “later levels” be? i didn t state the level…

It doesn’t hit without warning. The boss starts attack raising his hammer ( much like Kholer in AC but without the “glow”). After holding the hammer up there for a while he starts the swing, thats when the first damage tick is applied. At the end of the swing he sends projectiles which apply second tick of damage if hitting.

The exact timing of dodge of course depends of latency etc, but if you dodge anywhere but away from the boss, meaning sideways or towards boss, avoiding both ticks with one dodge is pretty easy once you get the timing right. There should be enough time to read the sign even with somewhat high latency since I can read it fast enough so I could actually dodge too early and therefore get hit by the second projectile.

I’ve lately been doing levels 40-48 and getting hit by both parts of the attack 100 -> 0 ’s any gc without protection buff.

Edit: Actually, I think my gc warrior can live double hit at least in some of the levels 40-48, doing anything but removing confusion will get me killed though.

It does not hit hit before any animation unless you are having latency issues. He raises his hammer for about half a second before swinging it in a circle. The circular swing is what applies the first tic of damage. There is an invisible attack, and you can easily tell there is since the first tic of damage does not inflict Confusion, but the projectiles that spawn afterwards do. I regularly dodge this attack. Just watch for the telegraphs. It’s hard to see, but it’s there; he’ll usually do it some time after not being able to catch someone with his hammer jump after spawning Wells, so just watch out for that.

are you telling that if i am at 600+ range and i see he raise a hammer i should for some reason evade? O_____o

doesn t seem logic actually i know the gamer philosophy is “if its doable i don t care” but there is no visual sign of any ranged attack….thus shouldn t hit ranged.

Also as i said if hammer hits you in midst of an evasion it shouldn t damage you…

Yet it does…..may it be latency? it could be but other boss doesn t have this issue….and as i said its not client side.

I haven’t had issues with the melee hammer attack hitting through dodge outside of the dodge cancels that sometimes happen but the same thing happens everywhere.
