Cliffside Fractal chanters need patching
actually its worse.
If you wipe everywhere you trigger full nomber of chanters spawning due to a bug.
A dev is working on the fix and while at it, said that he will change chanters so they reset at 2 per side on party wipe…
So we just need to wait to be fixed.
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
lol I rather have this stay in so I can find pugs who can’t do it on 3rd fractal and carry them through. however they should make sure that it spawns 8 by default, not after a wipe. are you even 48 op?

Being able to carry pugs through this fractal at 48? Please spread your OP method with 8 chanters on each side because I would love to have it. Thanks.
use 3 warriors and 2 guardians
people just can t see the difference between easy professions with easy instances since release…when people started to complete dungeons nobody could with only guardian and warriors.

That only works assuming every pug has a spare warrior or guardian to use. That’s not always the case. Plus, guild wars 2 was designed to be able to use any professions and clear it without the idea of having a tank and healer in a group.
Those chanters just doesn’t follow along with this because they heal the seals too fast for some combination of groups, especially in the higher level fractals.

2 thieves works too, 2 to perma blind, the other to blind in while invis and beat the seal, shadow return without drawing aggro. After 2 swings, they swap. Back when fractals was new me on thief and my guardian friend were basically duoing 48 since the pugs were generally so bad and would freak the f out if the last chanter died.

Can’t believe people are still crying about this.
If you have one good thief or mesmer, you can easily do this part.
If there’s volunteers, i’d like to record a video from a mesmer’s point of view for the arm seals with respawning chanters.
It takes 5 to 10 minutes depending on how good the rest of the team at preventing the chanters from regenerating the north seal with “my” method.
It’s really fool proof and works even at FotM 50++. It basically involves the Mesmer/Thief to use portal or shadowstep with stealth.

And i think those sort of posts are more for personal glorification than actual to help, or people would be a little more objective on instances rather than suggesting how to use stuff to avoid mechanics that are not working well.

How is this “wasting time”? Failing on arm seals and (rage)quitting is wasting time. I’ve seen threads about people not being able to get past the arm seals, no matter what, on and off for close to 9 months now. How’s that wasting time showing people to get past that part without much problems? I’ve probably “wasted” hundreds of hours in and out of the game helping people with different things, be it dungeons, builds and whatever on a rather unrelated note. Also, you don’t speak for everyone, do you?

Instead of finding ways to get past hard content by using different profession mechanics, you’d rather want to cry enough so that the devs change it to make it more 3/4 war+2/1 guardian friendly? <- This is what i understood from your post

You are missing lot of things.
Mostly you judge Others without knowing anything about them.
I have 300+ pristines and 1,5 bank slots full of skins…. i m not telling anyone not even level 1 players to L2P and stuff.
I have a mesmer to bypass dredge yet i am the first to say the stage should be changed asap.

The posts above are correct, the entire group of chanters is respawning after a wipe at any point. I’m going to change it so that only the 2 initial chanters will respawn on a wipe, and the larger group will spawn once the first 2 are killed. (As it used to work, except that the 2 chanters will reset after a wipe.)

I just wish they would fix this soon, so pug groups (they already take forever to finish in some cases) would come to cliffside and be content knowing that they will not worry about failing and wasting their time.

This is more about saving the time of people that do fractal than to be pugfriendly. Fractal is not even pug friendly at all. Pug groups take longer than well organized guild/friend groups. Not everyone has the option to ask guildies to come do fractal with them and they’ll have a party going.
Having to run this fractal for 2-3 hours just to reach this point and wipe with an almost impossible task to finish cliffside afterwards is ridiculous. I’ll rather be able to finish a fractal I started than to be thinking 2 hours later that I could’ve done something else. I’ve wiped a decent amount of time on this fractal and ended my run enough time for me to get to the point where I have to post this. I’m tired of the patch that never worked.

Lol ya right, all it takes is one mistake and a few bleeding heart players to rez at the wrong time and now the party is wiped. All it takes is one party wipe before arm seals to trigger this bug AFAIK. It’s such a risk that we do not PUG fotm now.
