So today when I was doing CoE with a PUG who can’t seem to get anywhere, had to spend a couple of hours just getting through the route because most of them can’t dodge the alpha’s AoE circles.

During the last area, they decided to bug subject alpha by having everyone in the team die and reset in a certain way such that it will render the alpha immobile and not attack.

I refuse to do that and go about killing him the normal way. This however got me booted out of the dungeon.

Leaving me with no token or gold reward and having the abusers benefit from it.

Would like some dev’s to address some of the issues here.
1) PUG’s booting legit players who refuse to bug the bosses
2) Not being able to report them as once I’m booted out of the party, all form of party communications are deleted.
3) Not having any form of reward for dungeon unless fully completed.

This really sux:/ I hope the bug gets fixed and exploiters get banned:/

If any of them said anything in chat you can report them from that, though I don’t think it’ll get you anywhere since the categories are kind of vague.

I manage to get 1 name off Map chat.

Since I’m unable to report a player for knowingly abusing a game bug (no such option in game) I’ll leave it here in case any dev’s decides to take any action.

I’m sorry but that is totally kitten You have no right to make other players change their tactic for something because you won’t cooperate. It’s your responsibility to take precautions if there are certain activities that you aren’t happy to participate in. Either be prepared to do what the majority wants, or enjoy getting kicked for trying to argue with people.

Tactic = Valid Strategy

Perfectly fine with it, that is why i stuck through 1+ hour of the dungeon regardless of how bad their strategy was in doing the console etc.

Knowingly Abusing a bug =/= Tactic

If the boss bugs out during normal combat, fine. It can’t be helped. But making an entire team die and abusing a loophole in the bosses A.I. by behaving in a certain predefined way so you can bug a boss and have it not attack you at all is exploiting, plain and simple.

I’m pretty sure you can’t do this on forums and it’s just common decency to give people their privacy. Also just mind your own business, who cares if they exploit because it’s not your problem. Another note the word exploit is being slapped onto everything now and there is a pretty vague border in this game that defines exploiting and smart tactics.

good for you to stick to your principles, i hope this is a lesson learned, next time you see a group wanting t o exploit a bug, keep quiet, write down their names in paper, or report for bug exploiting beforehand and pray for the best or report a bug, if i remember right the report bug takes a screenshot of your screen and thus the chat and then either leave or propose to not abuse a bug.

wether its a bug, an exploit or a dog, its still not how it was meant to be fought, i dont think any boss in the game is meant to be fought with it standing still and doing absolutely nothing and hte players doing nothing but just autoattacking.

cant wait for ANet to fix this bug too.

1 and 2: Do you seriously have no sense of common decency at all? Seriously it’s not your problem, let Arenanet handle it and just mind your own business.
3. Did you play GW1?

Honestly the community in this game is worse than Dota which is saying a lot.

I think the bigger issue here is the fact that a player can be kicked from the group so close to the end of a run and receive absolutely no credit. There should be some sort of safeguard here to prevent it. I like the kick feature and it has its legit uses, but having 2 people being able to kick you out a minute before the final boss dies just because it’s “funny” is a pretty serious oversight. That’s a lot of time wasted and a huge cause of frustration if it happens to you.

Nicely done in refusing to take part in bugging a boss just because you weren’t succeeding at first.
As you said bugging a boss =/= valid strategy and people that view it as such are probably the ones that resort to bugging bosses because they can’t dodge out of a red circle.

I agree with you about the exploit and the kicking part. Yet in most forums you are not allowed to post the names who participate in such wrongdoings. Block them, report them than forget them. BTW dunno what you thought would happen when out of five you were the only one who did not want to bug him out.
Also about this boss dunno if it is a bug or not but he can be killed pretty easily. Go melee and he will only use his spikes attack.

For those who think it isn’t the duty of the community to point out bugs, prevent exploiters from exploiting and standing firm against such people, lets agree to disagree and let the dev’s handle the situation.
I have already PM CD Robert about this, so lets hope something gets done.
